What to expect
Colombia is known as the coffee country, well, we got much more history linked to the “green gold”. Emeralds are part of the selected group of precious stones and the 60% of them in the world are originally from Colombia. Become part of the Emerald legend, by creating a ring with your own hands. This tour starts by having an introduction about the importance of emeralds for precolonial and colonial culture. We will go through the emerald and jewelry district to learn about the history of the precious metals and stones and its influence in Colombian culture. We will take a look at the emerald market to see the different minerals and qualities. Then we will work on your new ring, where you will decide all! the design, the stone and material, by the personal advisory of a orfebre (jewelry master) who teaches you how to do every single step.

For complete beginners! Incredible and unique experience that will really give you an appreciation for the art of jewelry-making in regards to emeralds from the Bogota region. Friendly staff and didn't take as long as we thought it would. 10/10! Gracias!!

The master jewelers guide you through the entire process, and finally set your stone for you. We upgraded to larger stones then the class includes, and it was well worth it. Class includes silver and emerald.

This was the most fun experience I’ve done. You physically make the ring yourself (with help from professionals of course). This a legit experience and not just a oh look what I’m doing today type of thing. You first learn about the history of Colombia and the emeralds then you go to one of the jewelry shops close by. We went upstairs to this place that looked like it hadn’t been updated in 30 years (in a good way, it made it authentic) and picked out our gems and design. You’re paired with a professional and then YOU get to work! You melt, pound, stretch, sand, sauter, polish, and finish the ring yourself. The professionals have been doing this for 30+ years and genuinely loved teaching us how to make our own rings. I felt like a professional halfway through! My ring turned out to be an engagement ring!Fantastic experience! Fantastic experience! As I always wanted to make a ring myself one day I found the perfect occasion to do so while visiting the worlds home of Emerald trade. Juan was a great guide, introducing us to the Emerald world and also supported us during the workshop. Everyone at the workshop has been super kind fun and helpful, truly a great bunch of people. It’s been great fun and I couldn’t have a better memory of my first Colombia trip than a hand made ring with this beautiful emerald 💎💍 I highly recommend this experience and I would book it again.Amazing experience. This Emerald tour was unique, creative, informative, and fun. It started with meeting the tour guides, Juan and Gabriela. After a brief introduction, Juan began to teach about the history and the significance of the Colombian Emeralds (which gave us a lot of appreciation for the emeralds). As we arrived at the workshop, they welcomed us with friendly smiles. Juan, Gabriela, and the dedicated jewelers were helpful, supportive through the entire ring-making process. The green emeralds were beautiful. One gets to pick their emeralds, choose the ring design and use all the tools to create their rings. The ending results of my ring and how the design came out were beautiful. I was surprised by the overall experience and product. I recommend anyone who is looking for a fantastic and unique experience to book this tour with Juan. It was 100% worth it. And oh yes, those emeralds are so beautiful.
