What to expect
La Fortuna Waterfall is in central Costa Rica, in the Alajuela Province. In Spanish, it is known as Catarata Fortuna. The waterfall drops about 70−75 meters and is at the base of the dormant Chato volcano, about 5.5 km outside of the town of La Fortuna, near the Arenal Volcano.

This is so worth it- we had Hans as our guide and he was amazing. He’s kind and intentional and shared lots of good facts with us. Also, having all the activities, lunch, and transportation is amazing.

Our guide Johnny was the best. Giving us many explanations regarding biology and geology, it was interesting to learn like that in such a beautiful environment. The schedule was respected even if I do not really care about this. Food was fine for lunch. In the end we did Waterfalls, very small trek to the basis of the Volcano and Hotsprings. I truly recommend !Apart from the beautiful nature, Norlan, the guide, was an absolute highlight - especially his uncompromising attitude regarding the unwillingness of many participants to drink a shot of guaro.

We also went to the hot springs. Lunch was included too. Overall it was a great experience. Recommended.
