Fantastic experience made even better by our guide, David. His knowledge was second to none. Would thoroughly recommend this tour.
David was our guide around the Colusseum underground, the Forum, Caesar’s Palace and the Palatinate. Being a Roman, he was so knowledgeable, offering us facts, figures and opinions of the ancient Romans, whilst making the tour fun and accessible to all. Highly recommend!! Nicki and Celia
Really good tour, Lucas was so informative and made the tour fun! Could have done with a few more hours with all the facts! I would definitely recommend the smaller tour as this gives a great personal touch.
Thorough enjoyed this tour, Angelo was brilliant and his knowledge was second to none. He really brought it to life and it was just splendid. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you.
What a fantastic way to see the Vatican and St Peters! David met us at the meeting spot and ensured we had time to grab an espresso before commencing our day. We had our 14month old daughter with us - so a bit nervous about how it would go, but David kept us all moving and engaged. We had the Vatican practically to ourselves (pro-tip: opt for the early tour!) as David expertly led us through, stopping to greet the many guards by name. He provided the right amount of information and anecdotes with out overloading us with facts. A truely spectacular tour, I plan to use LivItaly in the future and recommend to all my friends.
My wife and I took the semi-private Colosseum Underground tour with a few of our friends yesterday, which also included a tour of Palantine Hill and the Roman Forum. This was definitely the best tour we've ever had! It takes you to everything you want to see, while also giving you the experience of visiting areas of the Colosseum that you can only access with a tour group. Our guide, David “Schwimmer” Facasca, made the experience very enjoyable for us. Not only was he wealth of information for all things in Rome, but he also had an excellent sense of humor. He even took the time to give us recommendations for other things to do and see around Rome after the tour. If you're thinking about visiting the Colosseum, I highly recommend booking this tour with LivItaly.
Our tour guide Rosa was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable. Seeing the underground tunnels was so cool. It was the best tour of our trip to Rome- mostly due to Rosa. Highly recommended- you won’t be disappointed.
We rate this experience 5 star plus. I was undecided what tour and experience to book, I made the decision and committed to this tour, booked online a-bit more expensive than other tours but worth the extra expense I promise, breaks my heart parting with money but would do it again tomorrow, I have booked another tour from this. David “Tennant” Facasca was a amazing tour guide, absolutely made the tour, lots or knowledge, down to earth and explained things clearly, a credit to the company. Don’t do the colosseum tour without a tour and a 100% recommend the small tour group.
Deborah was a wonderful tour guide who takes obvious delight in her job. We learned so much! It was especially cool to see the underground areas that have only recently been opened to the public. The tour size limit made it feel very special, though be aware that the Colosseum underground part of the tour will be conducted as part of a larger group, per Colosseum rules. During that portion Deborah was great at shepherding us, and when we acquired a few hangers on, she was able to tactfully and kindly inform them that it was a private tour. There is a LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared. I might have liked to linger a little longer in some places, but the trade off is we got to see a tremendous amount of essential sights in way less time than we’d ever have been able to on our own. Book a starting time earlier in the day, or you risk running into the attractions’ closing time and wont be able to linger on your own after the tour finishes.
Loved that our group was only 6 people. We got to ask our knowledgeable guide any questions we had. He gave us a in depth experience of what life was like for Roman citizens, gladiators, slaves and Caesars alike. It was really fantastic!
Davide was an excellent guide. Knew everything there was to know about the colosseum and the palace, whilst being funny and engaging all of the audience. We would highly recommend a tour with him.
We toured the Colosseum February 2, 2022, it was such a great experience. We purchased a personal tour for our family, having no idea we would get someone with a PHD in Archeology. If you love details, inside tips on how things were found, where to visit next, and someone with a passion for history we would highly recommend Maria Helena.
This was by far one of the best tours I have ever had period. I enjoy traveling and have done so extensively. This was my 3rd time in Rome and I learned details that were fascinating. David from LivTours is a living encyclopedia. You will not be disappointed I promise you. Happy travels!
All we could say was WOW! An amazing experience, with an amazing tour guide. Luca did a fantastic job and had vast knowledge of everything Rome related. The tour itself is worth every penny, and SUPER in depth. Get ready for a fun filled experience with plenty of walking! Great job Luca and LivTours!
Me and my daughter had a great tour with Liv-Tours and our guide Santi, who told us interesting and astonishing storys, and didn´t bore us with too many names or year numbers. We saw new places and views an really can recommend the tour. Thanks!
Fantastic tour provided by David"Guetta"Falasca. Very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Not only providing lots of very interesting information but also making jokes along the way. Much more enjoyable than a large group tour. Recommended
Our guide Santi, was informative, funny and gave us plenty of photo opportunities, would highly recommend SANTI for any trips .
Giulia was fantastic. She engaged with adults and children and was able to provide in depth information to all of our questions. She even provided a detailed answer to "Where were the nightclubs?" It was such a cool experience to go underground and see the inner workings of possibly the most gruesome theater. This group size was perfect. We didn't get stuck behind a large group and didn't need earpieces to hear her. It was also great to have a very clear, easy-to-spot meetup point.
Jade was amazing! She’s so friendly and very knowledgeable. It was so cool to go on this tour with an archeologist.
Our guide was a wonderful historian. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with her. She enthusiastically provided a very informative and comprehensive tour of all three areas. It rained off and on throughout the day , but we didn’t care! Thank you Deborah!
I had a very disappointing experience with both this tour operator and with Viator. I understand there is no refund if you try to cancel in less than 24 hours. However, the day of our tour we needed to get COVID tested in order to return home to the USA the next day and unfortunately the morning of the tour my husband tested positive. We tried to do the honest thing and notify both viator and the tour operator but they said no refund could be given. They said that they had already paid for a guide so those were funds they couldn't return. Which is understandable. But there was no portion of my $232 that could be refunded? I called viatour 3 times and they hung up on me 3 times. I got the impression they were trying to run down the clock up until my tour departed which feels like shady business practices. As for the tour operator, we are in a global pandemic, I cannot possibly be the only person this has happened to and to deny me for even getting a partial refund is unbelievable. Did it really cost you all of my $232 dollars? Not even the non tour guide portion could be refunded? All I can say is that dont book unless you are 100% sure you are healthy because if you test positive the tour operator and Viator do not have the back of you, the customer. ***Just to update, I know that is says that Viator responded, they didn't. What they are referencing was an email they sent after "escalating" my concerns and reconfirming they would do nothing for my husband and I. Just more proof of lack of professionalism and dishonesty because in no way have I been contacted AFTER posting this review. Think twice before booking ladies and gentlemen
This tour was amazing. David (the Rosicone) was a fabulous tour guide - so much so that we have changed our plans in order to have another tour with him! The sites are are wonderful and his knowledge really brought them to life.
This was a small group, extensive tour guided by David, a very knowledgeable historian and local who has pride in his country and job. His explanations and descriptions of the Colosseum made ancient history come to life. He connected ancient history words, systems and events to today making this tour a fun, enriching experience. I highly recommend this tour and Livitaly Tour Company. Will use them again.
David was our tour guide and he was fantastic. His English is marvelous and even though I am also a tour guide (in another country), I was amazed at how much knowledge he had and was able to share. The underground of the Colosseum was amazing and he had so many interesting facts. I felt very bad for the tourists not in our group as they had no idea what they were seeing as their “guide” was just escorting them and not explaining anything. After the underground, we went up into the Colosseum and more interesting stories. Then we went to the Forum for an hour. Again- he shared so much! We liked his tour so much that we asked him to arrange to be our guide on the Friday Vatican tour that we have already booked. Worth every penny for LivItaly and for David Falasca
Be prepared for a lot of walking with much of it on large rocks. David was so knowledgeable and fun. I have difficulty walking but I was able to keep up. On the stairs going ‘underground’ my mask pushed my glasses and they fell off my face and over the rail! David caught them. Wow. The 3 hours were over in a flash. It was a very enjoyable tour. If I’m ever in Rome again I will ask for David as my tour guide.
Gulia, was fabulous. She had a great depth of knowledge on each of the aspects of the tour and tailored the experience to our small group. My highlight was trash talking Nero while also fitting him within a larger historical context as an example of the extent of power, and shifting power balance between the emperor and senate. She also gave great restaurant reviews.
Our tour of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome tour with Maria Helena was wonderful. Even though it was a rainy day, Maria Helena brought a sunny outlook as we explored Rome. She was very knowledgeable and incorporated many helpful aids via her ipad that brought the tour to life. We really enjoyed our tour with Maria Helena and highly recommend it to all!
Such an incredible experience with our guide UTA who had a real passion for history and thorough knowledge. UTA really made this experience special for us, by really personalising the information to suit our interests of Roman history. This is our 2nd time in Rome, and 2nd time doing a tour of the colosseum, however we chose to do small group and underground which is 1000% worth it. To see the colosseum beneath the surface and access exclusive areas was truly breath taking. We also got to explore the Roman forums and Uta took us to different areas we wouldn’t of gone before! We highly recommend this tour, well worth the money, and are so grateful for UTA and her knowledge.
Amazing experience. Dario runs a great tour and is full of awesome information. He does an incredible job.
We had a great tour! Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide! "Davide with pants" was so knowledgeable and funny! Loved the small size group tour, especially with covid restrictions. The underground was so fascinating. To be where the gladiators were, amazing..Lots of walking but totally worth it.
