Stop At: Il Collio, Gorizia Italy
The tour will take you to Collio wine region, famous for its outstanding wines but also for its amazing landscape (about 1500 hectars), which is unmistakably made up of green hills covered by rows of vines that in spring become even more beautiful with the colors of the blossoming cherry trees, with the outlines of the scattered houses and of the white boroughs built around pointed bell towers.

Cividale was founded in 53 BC by Julius Caesar and originally called Forum Iulii, from which the name Friuli is derived. Together with the Lombard sites, the Lombard Temple, the Ratchis Altar and Callisto Baptistery, one of the many places of artistic beauty is the Cathedral.

A very thorough tour of the area. We were able to hike through vineyards, walk through Cividale with private wine tasting. Dejan was a great guide with lots of recent history that helped us understand the complex history of the area. Also he gave us great tips for a Trieste. Overall, the tour was a great day and helped make our entire stay in Trieste better.Matt was a terrific guide. His Slovenian/Alaskan background, knowledge and experiences informed our tour well. Though the operator forgot to make our wine tasting reservation and consolidated two different tours into one, Matt provided a taste of culture and wine in Slovenia.

Very nice experience, I would recommend it! The guide was very kind and valid. They drove us to a Vineyard where we were able to sample some amazing white/sparkling wine. We also got to eat cherries right off the trees, as we hit the crop at just the right time. We spent the best afternoon/evening with Dan and Natasha, doing the Presecco tasting. They drove us to a Vineyard where we were able to sample some amazing white/sparkling wine. We also got to eat cherries right off the trees, as we hit the crop at just the right time. Our lovely hostess at the Vineyard was fabulous, she took us on a tour and then sat us down with wine and snacks. It was so much fun, by the time they dropped us off, we felt like Dan and Natasha were old friends. We highly recommend this tour if you want something personal and really want to see the area. Try it even if you don't like white wine(just ask Natasha), I may be a convert.
