What to expect
The first stop of the day is the medieval town of Benissa. Benissa is a traditional Spanish town that is steeped in history and remains little unchanged by time. Its maze of cobbled streets is lined with ancient buildings and whitewashed houses and the main town square has a church so big, that the locals call it a cathedral. Whilst in Benissa, the representative will take you to an 18th-century mansion which has been left unchanged as it was lived in, by its previous occupants and you really get the feeling of how they used to live back in the day.
Next, you will head inland, passing through valleys of vineyards and orchards filled with almond and orange trees before arriving at caves that are believed to have been formed some 150 million years ago and where they have found traces of life dating back to over 50 thousand years ago. Entrance fee to the caves is not included but the representative will be able to offer you discounted entrance tickets for just 3€. Once you have had time to visit the caves, you will head eastwards to the coastal town of Moraira where you will have free time to wander, relax and enjoy the surroundings before making the return journey.
The representative will confirm the meeting point with you and time for returning back to Altea and Calpe. Arrive back at the hotel around 5:30pm.

The first stop had stairs and the mansion house was not worth seeing. Tour guide was lacking knowledge and waffling and seemed unsure of what to do. My sister has a stick and was unable to see the mansion as over 3 floors. On arrival to caves only had one hour to see caves and have lunch. Caves were good but wanted longer to absorb the atmosphere. Rushed lunch no time for shop for sovereign. Thelast stop was on a brae to beach. Had 45 mins to walk down to beach and then back to bus . Not long to absorb or see. The journey long and roads very windy and not helped by constant waffle from guide who was reading info .Having previously been on the waterfall trip we were handed a leaflet about other trips and so decided to go in the coast & caves day out. Having previously been on the waterfall trip we were handed a leaflet about other trips and so decided to go in the coast & caves day out. We paid upfront at our apartment and was all set. We waited for pick up at our pick up point, lots of other guests going on different trips and each time we were told this isn’t your bus until there was only us left. Eventually we spotted our bus arriving… but it didn’t stop for us. Just carried on straight past. We phoned the number on the booking form and was told we were actually sitting on the bus …we said no we are not, why do you think we are phoning you? The bus didn’t stop! After a few minutes of listening to the office staff arguing amongst themselves, they came back on the line to say we had refused to get on the bus! Why would we do that? How could we refuse when the bus didn’t stop. Eventually they agreed to a refund and offered a free trip to the waterfall ( already been so no) and try to book us on the next cave & coast trip on Saturday but we leave Friday. It didn’t ruin the holiday ( we are not that dramatic) but it was disappointing and then to be gaslighted was shameful. I recommend giving round house travel a wide birth and organising your own trip with a taxi.Fantastic full day out. With the tour guide Nichola in charge my wife and I enjoyed a terrific day out. Nice air con coach and an experienced driver made the day entirely enjoyable. Will remember it for years to come.

WHAT A JOKE: we spent over 2 hours sitting on the bus from pick up @ Albir collecting people from hotels in Benidorm, we thought it was totally unacceptable to have to pick up from well over 10 pick ups where the bus driver had to manoeuvre through the narrow & traffic filled streets!! It isn't such a big place that you couldn't arrange a few pick up places with better availability to park up. "Coast & Caves": Roundtown Travel you need to stick with the title of the trip & not mess around starting the trip with a visit to Benissa where the only time we had was to have a coffee @ the meeting place for the next part to the caves!!! It wasn't very ideal walking beside the main road through Benissa to catch the bus for the next stage either, the driver had to hold the traffic up on the narrow main road whilst we boarded the bus!! The caves were very interesting & the café where we had the special offer for lunch was very nice & great value. The coast town of Moraira LOOKED fabulous but saying that we only had 40 minutes there because it was a ten minute walk to the marina, sea front from where the bus dropped us off & again the same place for pick up. The only time we had was to sit & have a drink, when we got back to the bus it was annoying as a group of people kept us waiting because they had been in the sea & one had been bitten by a jelly fish. Great we could of had an extra 10 minutes. DO THIS TRIP BY YOUR OWN STEAM its a waste of money & one we would never repeat. We were so FED UP we got off the bus in Calpe & made our own way back to AlbirMet round down travel kun je zonder zorgen een dagje uit. Reisleidster top! Alles tot in de puntjes verzorgd.
