Our driver arrived to the Hotel at the agreed time. He was very kind and helpful during the tour, provided a lot of interesting detail about the tea plantation, waterfall and the aboriginals. Mr Chandi Matthew was my tour guide for my one day trip to Cameron Highlands. I travelled as a solo female. My pickup was at 5am which was clearly explained in the confirmation email to avoid the weekend traffic and I am so glad we did this. When we got there we were the 3rd car or so to line up for entrance to the BOH tea plantation. My guide was extremely savvy and gave me specific instructions about where he would drop me off and to walk straight into the doors of the cafe and pick a table on the left side of the balcony for the best views and he would join me later once the car was parked. Turns out his advice was perfect as I was able to get to the front door early as BOH's cafe opened and got in first to get the best table on the left side. He also knows all the good photography angles and best classic shots of all our destinations which meant although I was a solo traveller I had some great pictures from the day. Mr Matthew was also happy to work with my travelling style - I am a dispassionate traveller who doesn't get overly sentimental or take a million photos, so he was more than happy to just go from place to place with me, and recommending which of the activities in each place might or might not suit me better (I was glad he recommended having a fresh coconut juice!). I love cats and when we met an Orang Asli family with many cats he was happy to work with me to take some photos of me with them. This tour was 100% tailored to my needs, and done in a way to avoid traffic and have an efficient but fun filled day. I highly recommend Mr Matthew and We go with Anuar - the online communication and confirmation was also fantastic.I second what Sophie's review said about solo travelling. I second what Sophie's review said about solo travelling. Anuar picked me up at 5am to avoid the weekend traffic jam in the highlands, so we were the very first to drive into the Boh Sungai Palas tea plantation, with an unspoiled view over the valley, and blessed with sunshine for a photo opportunity before the clouds came back - so definitely worth the early start! Butterfly garden, picking strawberry, waterfall and lunch were all good, but nothing beats the views over the tea plantations, with farmers picking tea in the most peaceful of surroundings. Anuar is full of interesting facts and has a great sense of humour. Definitely recommend.Firstly, as a solo traveller, I found it really hard to find a tour guide option that would take just me and allow me to pay for just one person. I found ‘we go with Anuar’ in passing whilst trawling through the options, and am very glad I took the risk. I had three full days in KL, and plenty of...
Firstly, as a solo traveller, I found it really hard to find a tour guide option that would take just me and allow me to pay for just one person. I found ‘we go with Anuar’ in passing whilst trawling through the options, and am very glad I took the risk. I had three full days in KL, and plenty of far flung ideas of where I wanted to see in very little time (and without doing much hard work)which luckily were covered in trips run by Anuar’s company. I went on trips on 9th and 11th November. My driver and guide for both were MR Sundram, who is a delight, a lovely lovely man. He is endlessly good humoured, very thoughtful and very knowledgeable. For the city tour I was given all the time I wanted to check various places out, had a great veggie Indian meal for lunch, fab seafood feast for dinner and then saw lots of fireflies. For the highlands trip, it was a long drive, at times on rather hairy roads (in a bad rainstorm at one point) and I felt in very safe hands.Mr Sundram knows lots of people, lots about his country and culture, just a lot about a lot of things. He also knew the best spots to be able to soak in the beauty of the tea plantations, and the best spots for a ‘comfort break!’ I had a seriously brilliant two days in his company, and am very grateful!!
