We arrived back to Cairo and wanted a tour of Cairo that was based on the city and other more modern sites. The market was out first stop it was hectic but very well protected and Abdull was an amazing guide. With his help we figured out the best route to get souvenirs and he gave us A LOT of free time to do our own thing. From there we went to the citadel and then Coptic area. All beautiful and must see places. Abdull made the experience wonderful and was extremely knowledgeable as well as calm and patient. A plus is his picture taking skills! I absolutely recommend. My husband and I enjoyed visiting the Citadel of Saladin and Coptic Cairo Church. My husband and I enjoyed visiting the Citadel of Saladin and Coptic Cairo Church. It was really interesting to learn about these important religious structures and the historical figures behind them and to see the gorgeous architecture. Mohamed, our guide, was knowledgeable about these structures' history and did a good job answering our questions about these sites.I chose the 5 day tour, which included Cairo and an overnight trip, by air, to Luxor. I chose the 5 day tour, which included Cairo and an overnight trip, by air, to Luxor. I was very impressed with the door to door service. The service was very personal and the staff was very professional. Ahmed went above and beyond to meet & exceed our expectations. I enjoyed the authentic Egyptian meals included with the tour. The staff was extremely prompt, at all times. When in Luxor, I asked about a henna tattoo. The tour guide made several phone calls & found someone to give me a henna tattoo. I was very impressed with his dedication. My friend was celebrating his birthday in Egypt and Ahmed presented him with a beautiful cake. It was a great experience and I was glad that we made the decision to experience Egypt with a guide. We learned a lot from each & every person that we spent time with. It definitely enhanced the trip. Thanks again, Ahmed & Jakada Tours! My wife and I very much enjoyed our tour of Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish sites in Cairo as part of a broader 10-day tour of Egypt that we took with Jakada Tours. My wife and I very much enjoyed our tour of Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish sites in Cairo as part of a broader 10-day tour of Egypt that we took with Jakada Tours. We saw the huge Citadel of Saladin and the immensely grand Mosque of Mohammed Ali (which sits within the citadel). Our guide Mohammed sat with us for a long time as we asked about how what we were seeing fit in with the big picture of Egyptian history from Byzantine times to the present—there’s no better way to learn the major periods of a country (like “the Fatimids, Mamluks, and Ottoman period”) than by standing on an overlook and having someone point out major architectural landmarks in Cairo that fit each phase! In Coptic Cairo we saw the Hanging Church (built on top of the still-standing ruins of the Babylon Fortress, where the Byzantines made their last stand during the Arab conquest), the Church of St. Segius and St. Bacchus, and Synagoge of Ben Ezra. Overall, we chose Jakada for our full trip because they had both great reviews and highly competitive prices—and it turned out to be just as good as it sounded! We got a private tour for considerably less than most companies offer group tours. But at the same time, we are very happy with the quality of the accommodations and service we received from our hosts. Jakada put us in an excellent hotel with a gorgeous view of the pyramids out our window (we’re told this is all the rage these days for visitors to Egypt)! This served as our home base for the trip when we were not on the cruise or desert adventure.Make sure you ask for Jakob!
