A view onto a chain of 100 kilometers of the Swiss Alps and 10 Swiss lakes awaits you walking out the mountain station. Let the Stanserhorn Ranger explain the mountain panorama to you, let him tell you about the history of Mt Stanserhorn and let him show you the most beautiful flowers blooming on Mt Stanserhorn. After walking the 30 minutes summit trail (from the very peak you have a 360° view) you will sure feel hungry or thirsty. Our self-catering restaurant Rondorama will fullfill your culinary desires. You simply take a seat and let the mountains revolve around you - it's a revolving restaurant which revolves in 45 minutes.

We arrived in complete cloud cover which was a breath taking experience, but then we were able to watch the clouds disperse revealing the 360 degree views. Originally, we wanted to go to Lucerne's local mountain. Good friends recommended the Stanserhorn as an alternative. Yesterday we took the nostalgic train to the valley station of the CapriO ropeway. What an experience to discover 6 or 8 lakes! All employees were very friendly and gave us explanations as a bonus. We learned that after lunchtime the rush is much smaller. Thank you for the unique experience.We took a bus to the base of Mt. Stanserhorn . Then we took the cog railway/cable car up to the summit of the mountain . We took a bus to the base of Mt. Stanserhorn . Then we took the cog railway/cable car up to the summit of the mountain . The cog railway was fun , with a relaxed ride with wonderful views of Switzerland . The double decker cable car ( one level enclosed and the upper level open air ) was fantastic for the 2nd half of the ascent up the mountain . The sights were spectacular ! Upon reaching to summit , there is a casual restaurant and gift shop where we had lunch . The food was good . The views from the summit were breath taking . We were able to have the opportunity for some great photos as the clouds moved in and out . A definite to-do in Lucerne .We visited this place while on tour. The whole experience was amazing.
