Each Boston Whale Watching Cruise is narrated and guided by a naturalist from the noted Whale Center of New England (WCNE). The WCNE has been studying the whales of New England for more than 20 years and its members are recognized worldwide as authorities on whales.
One of the whales you're likely to spot during a Boston Whale Watching Cruise is the humpback. These Northern hemisphere humpbacks reach an average length of 50 feet, and a weight of about 37 tons! Sadly, they're also among the most endangered, and its estimated that only 8 percent of their original population remains.
With the data collected on each cruise, WCNE is able to further the understanding of whales and their world. And, their presence on board ensures that your whale watch will be an exciting and educational trip.
Whale sightings on every whale watch. If you do not see a whale on your trip, you will receive a free ticket for a future Boston Whale Watching Cruise.
The catamarans feature 3 outside decks for optimum viewing capability. Inside you will find climate controlled cabin space with cushioned seating, tables, state-of-the-art audio-visual, and a galley offering snacks and beverages for purchase.

Great tour with great guides! The young women who provided all the information was very knowledgeable. The captain also made sure to get each side of the boat to view the whales; there was no bad spot to be. Would definitely do again.
Bathrooms tied up the whole time had to pee people stayed in the bathroom the whole time need to keep people from staying in the bathroom
Spectacular views of the whales and dolphins. The guide was very knowledgeable helping us to learn while experiencing.
The crew was very friendly. The tour guide spoke so elegantly and was very well versed. The boat went as close as possible for everyone to take photos, the boat was clean and enough space for everyone.
We actually saw several whales and multiple breachings. The captain really knew where to take us. The guides were engaging and it wasn’t just a memorized script.
My husband and I enjoyed ourselves and were able to see a whale and her baby up close. My husband is in a wheelchair and it is accessible and we received priority boarding. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly
Very cool from start to finish! The guides are very knowledgeable and aware of guest safety. The experience of close up encounters with these beautiful creatures was worth every penny!
Wonderful experience! Saw a set of three whales on a couple occasions thru the tour. Also 2 blue sharks. Truly an experience of a lifetime.
Competent courteous staff that made the experience as enjoyable as possible!
Well worth it!
Whales were awesome too!
The boat ride was great!! We saw whales (10-12) and were able to get some pretty cool photos. The narrator was very knowledgeable and interesting. Of course people rushed the rail to see but that was to be expected. We met some great people and the entire experience was fun and exciting. Will definitely go again on our next trip to Boston. And the photos taken of us are a great memory!!
This was the most amazing whale watching i have ever been on. We saw numerous humpback whales. One even breached the water 4 times. AMAZING!!!! A lot of fin flaps and tail breaches. Even saw a mom and her calf. The crew members were informative and took their time in the water. Even answered questions. GO ON THIS TOUR YOU WILL NOT NE DISAPPOINTED!!
While I would recommend this trip to family and friends, I would do so with caveats. The high speed catamaran is a nice boat, but it is very large and holds lots of guests, all of whom are vying for the best place to see the whales and other species spotted. Most of the viewing areas are toward the back of the boat, so the large number of guests all try to crowd around the limited viewing area to see the animals. If you have any mobility issue, beware of the folks rushing from place to place to get a look. Since most of the viewing area accessible to the guests is toward the mid to rear section of the boat, it was frustrating that every time a spotting was announced, the captain turned the boat in the direction of the animal spotted. This, of course, made viewing more difficult.
My trip was during the Covid-19 pandemic. Masks were required to be worn any time when seated inside. While most did wear masks, very many did not even though several announcements were made advising of the requirement. If you have health concerns, this may not be the trip for you.
So much fun, and worth it to see these majestic creatures in their habitat. in my tour the crew was as equally excited to see the animals as we were, which I thought was cool. they truly enjoy what they do.
Great experience , my only advice is to get there early for the best watching spot .. we saw about 6 whales and one out on a water slapping show … almost like he was waving at us .. my daughter loved it
Would never go again with this company. You are on a huge ferry with 500 people. Unless you are willing to crowd up front you can’t really see anything. It was such a waste of money
Not memorable! Whale watching not good! Long ride, hour and half out and back. Was so hoping to see more and got a good spot on the top, but when a whale was in fact spotted everyone ran over to that side and got way too close (no masks) and smashed their way into everyone, not fun! Service was good, crew did a good job of giving out whale facts, ample seating, Bathrooms were clean, snacks way over priced. Just did not have a good experience.
Awesome trip! We seen so many whales. It was awesome hearing the back stories on some of them as well
We were lucky and saw whales. The tour narrator was very informative and went the extra mile by walking throughout the boat on the trip back to ask each of us individually if we had any questions.
The downside is that several of us were extremely sea sick from the speed of the boat on such a windy day. In hindsight I wish we sat inside away from the renaissance exhaust fumes. I think they contributed to our nausea. Overall, good trip but I would never ride on a windy day again or sit near the boat exhaust.
1. There was no address from where I can board in
2. Viator pickup my phone but the receiptionist was horrible did not know the English and hangup before asked me!
3. The tourist company picked my phone but kept me on hold 30 miniuts
4. The seats weare derty, I believe they never clean it.
Seen a few whales hard part was when it was on other side of boat people flocked there and you couldn't see, other people were rude saving seats but then not sitting in them, the person on speaker explaining stuff he spoke too soft and you couldn't understand
I am happy we saw the whales and the dolphins.
The crew was nice and attentive.
It was hard to understand the person speaking into the microphone
This trip was amazing!!!! We saw so many whales and even a shark!!! The captain and naturalists were awesome with all the knowledge they shared!!!
Seeing all those whales on every side of the boat was truly amazing the staff was very knowledgeable and made the trip really worth it
The trip was truly a wonderful experience! We saw a pod of dolphins and 4 humpback whales! (One was a calf)
The ride was very smooth and staff was great!
Excellent whale watching trip! One of the best trips we've ever had. Love the catamaran as it kept a nice smooth trip. Seas were fairly calm the day we went out but with the cat it was no problem. We were able to see a mother and her baby humpback whale that hung about the boat the entire trip. It was so fun to watch the two interact and swim about the boat for several hours. We were lucky and clearly the best trip ever.
It was nice. Yous hola wear sweater because it is cold outside even its summer.
We couldnt see whales close enough eventhough the team try to get close.
Great tour, knowledgeable staff. Only negative was young children running all over the boat throughout the tour. Recommend for families with kids 10 or older, due to length.
I was disappointed once I realized that it would have been less to purchase tickets directly. Your price for the child ticket was over $23 more. Live and Learn.
Our family had an amazing time! We saw several whales and even a mom and calf pair of humpbacks. The mom even treated us to a huge out of water breach. It was a once in a lifetime experience that the whole family enjoyed, grandparents to little a. The crew was extremely knowledgeable, professional and happily answered all of our curious 5 year old’s questions. We would definitely recommend this tour!
This was a true whale-watching trip. We went out to their feeding grounds and stayed and saw several humpback whales. The naturalist was so knowledgeable and we learned so much. I would give 5 stars but for the group of people in the front of the ship who drank the entire time and were loud and crass. They were not there the whales.
