This route runs through the most beautiful and spectacular area of Bizkaia. Very special area and full of history for the Bizkaians.
You can enjoy natural parks such as Urkiola and Gorbea in all its splendor and we will walk through medieval villages such as Elorrio, Otxandio and Areatza. They retain their original structure with old houses and beautiful palaces. Visit to the necropolis of Argiñeta, the most important in Europe, with tombs and funeral steles of the 10th century.
Finishing the day with a walk through the beech of Otzarreta, one of the most photographed in Europe, is something unforgettable.

Todo esto junto a un guía local dedicado, honrado, muy conocedor de la historia de cada lugar y dispuesto a hacer que toda la experiencia sea inolvidable de principio a fi...
Ruta recomendadísima para conocer el interior de Bizkaia, sus pueblos, su gastronomía, sus tradiciones y paisajes montañosos. Todo esto junto a un guía local dedicado, honrado, muy conocedor de la historia de cada lugar y dispuesto a hacer que toda la experiencia sea inolvidable de principio a fin. Hice esta ruta junto a la Ruta Minera, un día para cada una, y puedo irme con toda la satisfacción de haber conocido Bizkaia con una mirada muy cercana y local. En la Ruta del Duranguesado tuve la oportunidad de pasear por pueblos y lugares históricos, combinados con tradiciones, vistas naturales y montañosas que hacen que cada lugar sea fuente de tranquilidad, felicidad, y el deseo de tener la experiencia presente por mucho tiempo. Sobre el guía, José Luis, solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento. Su abierta disposición y pasión por Bizkaia dan un toque inigualable a la experiencia, además de que los recorridos se vuelven personalizados y, gracias a ello, la experiencia en ambos días ha sido como ir de paseo con un gran amigo. Puedo garantizar que cualquiera que reserve un recorrido en cualquier ruta con José Luis recibirá mucho más de lo que se espera. Como datos: - El punto de recogida es en Bilbao, el guía es muy puntual. - La ruta duró de 9 a 10 horas, se viaja en el coche del guía por lo que se va muy cómodo y se puede llevar mochila. - Se coordina con el guía un tiempo de comida en restaurantes locales (seguid las recomendaciones de José Luis, tanto para comer a la carta, menú del día o como para ir de pintxos sobre la marcha, valen mucho la pena). - Los tiempos de un lugar a otro son cortos y cuidadosamente planeados para estar cercanos entre sí. - La experiencia de la ruta está diseñada para ser tranquila y sin prisas. Aunque llevábamos un itinerario, en ningún momento sentí que fuera apresurado. Tuve suficiente tiempo para tomar tantas fotos y videos como quisiera, al mismo tiempo que conocía la historia de los lugares y descubría tradiciones locales como las gildas o un pequeño juego de pelota vasca en un pueblo. Para una mejor experiencia, recomiendo también comunicarse con antelación, pues el guía ajustará las rutas en base a las necesidades. Sin más que agregar, eskerrik asko eta laster arte!kati504

Strongly recommend to take the opportunity to see inland landscapes quite different from the seaside. Great views, interesting small villages and very good commentary from the guide - and the beech forest - magical... And the tour organised very professionally.
