Fun tour with lots of info and local insights. Booking the e-bike was worthwhile as we covered lots of ground. Memorable experience.

We had an amazing guided ride! Our guide was SUPERB! He was kind, informative and really dedicated to sharing knowledge on Japan culture and history. Lunch was also awesome - trying out a belt sushi extravaganza! Would hightly recomend the tour to whoever feels fit to cycle to longer hours (7h!). If not, maybe choose a lighter version (4h).

We had a great day with Paul , he was so informative and enjoyed getting my bearings in Kyoto . Highlight was Kinkaku-ji and Paul organising a Japanese wedding in a Temple !! Great group of people from USA , Ireland / Australia and Mexico . Throughly recommend

We had a fabulous bike tour with Juan. He was both knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw and learnt so much more than we would ever have been able to do by ourselves. Juan looked after the group very well and structured the ride so that we did the uphill part (only a slight slope, don’t worry!) before lunch and then cruised back home in the afternoon. We stopped at five different places (all very interesting) in addition to the lunch stop. A great way to spend our first day in Kyoto! Highly recommended.

Akira adapted our tour to exactly what we were looking for. We already visited Kyoto last year, so we were looking for new places to see (beyond the main tourist attractions). He’s very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Kyoto and Japan. We learned so much from him. He’s a great storyteller! I recommend this tour 100%!

Great way to explore Kyoto pretty accessible to cyclers of all levels. Our guide Juan was great and super knowledgeable and provided a ton of information about all the sites we visited. Would definitely recommend just make sure you bring extra water when it's warm out!

It was an EXCELLENT way to see Kyoto, some of the significant temples, the local neighborhoods, an excellent lunch and a great guide.

We had a wonderful time exploring Kyoto city by bike with Layla. Even though she was not born in Japan she gave us in depth information about the sites we saw and was able to converse and read Japanese. She was friendly and fun to be with. I highly recommend doing this tour if you want to spend a great day riding around Kyoto with someone who is familiar with the city and the attractions. Thank you Layla for a memorable experience!

Fantastic. Our guide Layla was terrific. Knowledge and professional. She took us to historical sites with few tourists as well as showing us the quiet parts of the Gion district. We even saw a Maiko during our travels. Highly recommend. Lunch was in a 400 year old restaurant and the food was delicious.

Beautiful ride through Kyoto. Our guide Jay was entertaining and very informative. We managed to see many of the major sights in one long day. Lunch was in a historic restaurant and delicious.

Our family rated this bike tour of Kyoto as one of our favourite experiences of travelling through Japan so far. Paul, our guide, was kind, patient and knowledgable and respectful of all things Japanese culture. We felt incredibly safe riding around the city including the kids (age 14 and 10). We covered many of the major sites and it helped orientate ourselves to the city so we can explore it with more confidence by ourselves. He also had suggestions for other places to visit in Kyoto as well as good day trips for us to take.

Our family had a wonderful experience. Juan was a terrific guide who was organized as soon as we arrived. He knew our names, had bikes allocated to each participant based on the heights we provided, shared interesting historic facts, ensured everyone felt safe and took us to a fabulous authentic Japanese lunch. This was an excellent tour to get to know the city on day 1 for us. Our guide, Juan, was friendly and informative. We loved seeing the river and neighborhoods from bikes. Compared to other cities, the drivers here are pretty chill. And everyone bikes and you never have to lock them up; so safe here. My favorite part was whizzing in and out of the biggest tourist attractions without sitting in traffic or long tour bus lines. The noodle house was delicious and the multiple temples we went to all had their own unique beauty. Great way to tour with teenagers. Highly recommend!

This tour was the highlight of our trip between visiting Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. 6 hours flew by and the tour had the perfect pacing of time spent biking, time spent at “tourist stops” and time spent at lunch. We went to conveyor belt sushi which was delicious (and also had additional items you could order if sushi isn’t your thing). We took our trip during peak season (cherry blossoms), so we were burnt out on crowds. This tour took us to some popular spots, but we also got to experience some quieter spots that were still rich in history, and we never would have visited otherwise. We covered so much ground while still getting to be off our feet! We did not need to wear helmets per Japan laws around bike helmets, but I wish I had worn one in hindsight. The bike trip is along sidewalks that are populated with pedestrians, and we often went into the road alongside cars. There were some moments that felt a bit scary, including one where I swerved to avoid some pedestrians and ended up crashing into a railing. Very experienced riders may have an easier time, but it’s something to be mindful of with how many tourists are in Japan right now. Overall I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto for the first time. It made me love and appreciate the city for everything it has to offer!

We had a brilliant cycle tour, our guide Quinn was very knowledgeable and went to great efforts to make the day an excellent experience for the whole group. Would definitely recommend!

Layla our guide for the day was friendly, knowledgeable and great at her job She showed us some very cool sights around Kyoto and we got some good riding on our bikes. The place Layla took us to for lunch was a local, family run business which added to the experience. After the bike trip, Layla went out of her way to help us buy some phone accessories, which we were struggling to find. And we were very grateful for her help.
