Bernina Scenic Train & Lake Como
Overview
WARNING: for different reasons TRAVELERS MUST HAVE A GOOD PHYSICAL FITNESS LEVEL!
Enjoy a 13-hour trip to one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Bernina TRAIN, passing before along Lake Como and a beautiful Alpine valley. We stop in a charming lakeshore village and, possibly, later by a winery or old cellar experience or a cafè!
In Tirano you have 1 hour for your lunch and then we board the Bernina TRAIN that climbs the Swiss Alps.
We get off at one the highest point to enjoy snowcaps and glaciers view.
(JUST IN CASE OF SEVERE WEATHER CONDITION WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REACH THIS POINT AND SWITCH TO ONLY A PARTIAL RIDE OF THE BERNINA TRAIN)
Afterward we head to St. Moritz where you have about 45 minutes to explore this fashionable resort, one of the most well known in the world.
At the end of it we go back to Lake Como, through another spectacular valley in Switzerland, from where you board the regular train for a ride on your return to Milan.

Having seen many companies all offering slightly different experiences for the Bernina train journey, I was extremely happy to have booked our trip with Luca. We were met in Varenna by Giulia, who was a fantastic guide for our day, and organised a few small stop offs for us on the way to the train - from the wine tasting and private car journey up to Tirano, to the amazing train journey and stop off in St Moritz, I could not have asked for a more perfect day! This tour was the highlight of our trip! Luca our guide made it extra special. He was very knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. We felt at ease right from booking to the end of our tour. Everything was organised very well. We visited two areas of lake Como and visited a wine producer too. All so informative. However, the highlight was the Bernina train to St. Moritz . The scenery is gorgeous, and it’s so nice not to worry about any logistics or planning! **BOOK DIRECT!!** I did, and Luca arranged everything — all of our tickets and everything, we just had to follow Alice along! Luca was so responsive and easy to communicate with. Alice was a great guide, so nice and knowledgeable. And our driver (I apologize, I forget hid name!) was kind and pleasant as well. This was the absolute best day. Luca treated us so well and every city he took us too was breathtaking!! The train ride was unforgettable and it was so nice to simply relax and enjoy the entire day without planning anything ourselves. 10/10 recommend!!
