Travelers will see a variety of wildlife from the public park as part of the tour and learn about the ecological necessity of waterways like Shem Creek. However this is only one of many stops along this tour as we visit historic structures and areas of cultural significance.

Captain Bryan was very informative about the history of the area and very engaging in q&a.we learned how to tell the difference between types of shrimp and the shrimping culture. Showed us how to throw a casting net to catch shrimp and also an active crab trap. Was able to walk through an active tv shooting of the outer banks. Today we took the Behind the Scenes of Shem Creek Shrimp Walking Tour with Captain Bryan. What a wonderful way to experience the history of the area...with someone whose knowledge exceeds his years! He is an engaging bright and FUN guy, who cares about the past, the present and the future of Mt. Pleasant and those that live here. Not to mention he knows where the BEST local shrimp is served! I would make it a point to take this tour on your first day in town... you will be glad you did!Had a great time with Bryan today. He's very knowledgeable and he really personable too. I would highly recommend this tour.
