What an incredible experience! We started off by washing watermelon and bananas for the elephants, loading them into the Ute and hand feeding the elephants. We then went and chopped down some grass/banana trees for the elephants to feed on, helped give them a mud bath and finished in the water with them giving them a scrub down. Lastly, we helped mush up and hand feed an old 79 year old elephant who was unable to eat as she had no teeth. We finished the morning off with a buffet lunch. The care and dedication the staff show to these animals is evident, and all staff were extremely knowledgeable and funny. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a conservationist way to interact and support the elephants.Great solo traveler experience. Highly recommend for a great elephant experience. As others have stated, there wasn't very much time at the waterfalls. I walked to the top and back with a few stops in between for pictures. Felt I had to rush to make it. Great solo traveler experience. Highly recommend for a great elephant experience. As others have stated, there wasn't very much time at the waterfalls. I walked to the top and back with a few stops in between for pictures. Felt I had to rush to make it. Adding a little bit more time at the water falls would be nice. My driver, At, was great and very helpful.Great experience to admire the elephants and learn more about them! Great experience to admire the elephants and learn more about them! The staff was very accommodating, provided good information about the elephants in general and also about specific elephants to get to know them better. It was fun to learn to cut the banana trees, mixing food for the older elephants, and being in the water with them! A word of caution: beware of tree branches when you ride in the back of the truck!!Visiting the Elephant Sanctuary and Erawan Waterfall are amazing experiences. Visiting the Elephant Sanctuary and Erawan Waterfall are amazing experiences. I highly recommend taking the time to see them. Our trip took longer than 12 hours. We were picked up at 6AM and brought back to our hotel at 8:30PM. Our driver did a great job getting us there and back, but he did not speak English. This left some confusion for us on what to do when we got to the waterfall. I also recommend looking up the waterfall yourself to see if you can handle the hike up. It is worth it, but exhausting. To clarify, my driver was wonderful. But as soon as we entered Elephant World, two elephants were posed at the entrance with chains on their feet. The handlers with them seemed very mean and had bull hooks in their bags. I’m sorry to have participated in such an experience. Also the waterfalls on...
To clarify, my driver was wonderful. But as soon as we entered Elephant World, two elephants were posed at the entrance with chains on their feet. The handlers with them seemed very mean and had bull hooks in their bags. I’m sorry to have participated in such an experience. Also the waterfalls on the way back took 6 hours in traffic. Would be good if the driver gave a specified time to be back to meet at the entrance as I could not find him and had to get access to WiFi to locate him after 30 min.It was an amazing experience. The travel time was crazy. About 3 hours down and more than 4 back. Due to Thai holiday. Lots of traffic An experience that was worth the wait
