I can’t recommend attending this cooking course enough, it was so much fun, I learnt a lot and it was worth every penny. After an initial hickup with the booking via the third party site (I’d booked 7 months in advanced then a few days before it was cancelled, however I finally got it resolved). The day ran so smoothly, a visit to the local, authentic food market then back to The Greek Kitchen to make 5 dishes. The chef/teacher was so welcoming, friendly and involved all (very slight thing which she jokingly mentioned herself was her thick Greek accent which did make it difficult to understand her at times). It was a very mixed class which was great, we all got along and made a feast which we all enjoyed at the end along with accompanying local wine and aperitif. I will definitely be replicating the recipes when I arrive home as they were so delicious and easy to make. I must say there’s nothing like the fresh Greek produce that we ate, unlike what I can get back home, it’s pretty impressive. If you want to do something fun and learn some Greek dishes with a friendly, independent business this is the course for you.

What a fun cooking class! Highly recommend this class. Our host was funny and truly enjoyed her recipes. We did a tour of the central market, talked to local vendors, came back and had fun conversation and made some incredible food! Loved it!

Because I wanted a hands-on experience in Athens but my partner doesn't drink alcohol or like olives, I chose this cooking class. Our classmates came from all over the world and added to the fun. Our instructor, Vasia, gave us a tour of the nearby partially covered open-air food market. Back at the kitchen, we took turns chopping ingredients for things like tzatziki and making individual dishes. We learned how to roll both dolmades (rice +/- ground beef in grape leaves) and spanakopita. There was an eggplant dish, and dessert was an orange "pie" with torn phyllo dough that had the texture of a British pudding. Along the way, Vasia told jokes and played music, and we chatted amongst ourselves. Maria also helped clean up and with the baking. It was a lot of fun!

Very enjoyable experience. Loved the walk to the Central Market and the hands on experience in creating our Greek dishes.

We had a nice and insightful little tour of the local fresh food market and a really well structured cooking session and a lovely Greek meal at the end😊

We loved this class and our instructor! The instructor was engaging, informative and so enjoyable to spend time with. We loved learning about Greek cuisine (regions foods came from, cultural information) as well as how to correctly hold knives and quick kitchen tricks to help the prep process along. The food we created was amazing! Also, the trip to central market was very cool. I would recommend this amazing experience to everyone visiting Athens. A highlight of our trip.

I especially enjoyed the walk through the market and how simple everything was to make - all the food was flavorful and satisfying, I will definitely use the recipes at home. 100% recommend! I went alone and the people in my group were all very friendly, I think everyone had a wonderful time!

My daughter and I had a fantastic experience and really enjoyed learning to cook some amazing Greek food and hear about Greek culture and meet some interesting people travelling and living in Athens. Couldn’t recommend it any more highly.

Our experience with The Greek Kitchen was amazing. Wonderful menu and great kitchen tips. My husband, who was initially skeptical and only agreed because “Happy wife - happy life” throughly enjoyed himself. He said it was a great balance to all the nonstop sightseeing. Also the food was incredible. Thank you so much for the lovely time!

Great experience! It was a much smaller group and got to visit a local market, our host was knowledgeable and very funny. The food we made was amazing and everything taste fresh. Very professional, the kitchen assistant is amazing doing a lot of the behind the scene work. Very clean and organized we started on time and ended right on time, highly recommend

This activity did not disappoint. Our head chef, Thanos, provided us with a fun, relaxing, educational, and flavorful afternoon. After our morning Acropolis tour, it was great to visit local markets (meat, fish, produce) then sit down, listen to good music, learn how to cook a 3-course Greek meal, and, finally, feast on everything we made. The menu was excellent: dolmades, tzatziki, imam bayıldı, and orange pie. Thanos did a great job leading, coaching, and facilitating everything the entire team. He knew exactly how to keep everyone involved, including our two sons. Overall, the group collaborated as a team very well (1 couple, 2 individuals, and our family of 4). Good conversations were had. Dad jokes were made (by me only). And delicious food was consumed. We would absolutely do a cooking class with Thanos and The Greek Kitchen again!!! Notes: Very vegetarian friendly (e.g., don't have to visit meat/fish markets, don't have to handle/eat meats). Great location. Ask about other dietary needs beforehand (e.g., sodas, juices, alcoholic drinks).

This was a great cooking class. You got to make all the classics and the walk through the central market was a great experience. The class was laid out in a way that you were taken step by step through what you were preparing, & your table cooked as a group, so everyone participated. Our teacher was great, very funny, & very helpful with any questions you may have had. My only wish for the class would have been to be able to go into the kitchen and put some of the dishes on the stove or in the oven myself, but that isn't enough of a reason to not give this 5 stars & suggest to everyone. My group looked at a lot of options & in most you were either paying way more, tied up for hours, or not actually doing any of the cooking yourself. In my opinion this is an ideal balance between doing things, eating things, and not blowing your budget.

The experince was great, got to learn about Greek Foods made a great meal and got to meet new people from all over the world in class. Best of all had a great teacher instructing us in class

Vassia is an amazing hostess, teacher, and chef! I felt comfortable from the start. The group was small enough that we could share stories while we cooked. I can't wait to try out the delicious dishes at home. I highly recommend this experience!!

We had an absolute blast at our cooking class. Our host, Vasia, was so much fun. She has a wonderful, warm personality and a great sense of humor. The food was fantastic. I would do this again because it was such a fun experience. Highly recommend.

This was my friends’ and I’s first time in Greece and the cooking class was everything we could’ve hoped for! Lots of laughs, fun, and learning! Vasia was hilarious and the food was spectacular. Would highly recommend!

We were part of a small group, just 7 in total. We learned so much about the ingredients and Greek culture. Cooking together was very enjoyable and the results were delicious.
