Outstanding tour! First of all, I thank all of those who took the time to review this trip previously. You inspired us to book the trip, and I can verify the accolades were well deserved. Yannis was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable on Greek history. He went out of his way to make sure the trip met our desires. The Frankish Tower on the Acrocorinth is a must see if you are able to make the hike to the top. Once there, climb the steps inside the tower and enjoy the views from the top. We went on a rainy day and I would do it again many more times. Even if you cannot make the hike, you will be blown away by the views from below. Nafplio is a great coastal town on the tour. It is a place I would like to have spent more time. If I come back, I may look at an overnight there versus a day trip. If you want to get out of Athens for a day and see some spectacular countryside, this is the trip. You will be glad you did. It was the highlight of our week in Greece.I can’t speak highly enough about this full day trip. I can’t speak highly enough about this full day trip. Our trip started when we got picked up at our hotel and our driver Alex had bottled water and some light snacks for us. He even stopped so we could get much needed coffee for the ride. Our first stop was was the Corinth canal. Although I didn’t want to leave the comfort of our amazingly comfortable Mercedes I did and man wast it awesome. And Alex was right there to share his knowledge with us about the history of the canal. After the canal we went to explore ancient Corinth and amazingly walk in the footsteps of the apostle Paul. It was really a must see experience for any Christian or just about anyone who fashions themselves a history buff. We then headed to nafplio after weaving through Orange and olive groves. Oh did I mention that Alex stopped to let us buy oranges from a roadside stand? Alex our driver then brought us to one of the most beautiful restaurants I and my family have ever seen. Marie’s was right on the beautiful nafplio Shore with endless beautiful views up and down the shore. Last before heading home Alex took us up to the palamidi castel my wife and I were to tired to go in but my daughter simply loved it and emerged with great photos and huge smiles. I absolutely recommend this trip and if you’re lucky enough to get Alex as you driver he will make the day much more enjoyable and informative. Ancient Corinth is only a very small portion of what it was really like. A couple thousand years ago this city reached to the sea, and was a bustling city. some of the original walk ways from that time period are there for you to walk on. The Apostle Paul preached here for a year and a half, and not got a few Jews upset with him, but also gave his famous "Love" sermon here. So I felt privileged to be walking in his footsteps, so to speak. The ruins interesting as well. The cistern is still in working order and you can hear the water in it. There are some markers, but I wished we had paid for a guide to bring to life for us Corinth and what it was like back then. Well worth the time to go see it and there are a few restaurants right outside the entrance to it to have your lunch or just rest and enjoy a snack before your drive back. Enjoy! History Buffs!

This was a self guided tour through the site of Ancient Corinth, our guide gave us 2 hours to go through the site and we thought it would possibly take only about an hour given previous sites we had been to. Well what can one say.....THIS was the Greece we were expecting!! The archaeological site of Ancient Corinth was amazingly spectacular. It took us 2 hours and we could have spent longer. We went through the museum first which housed so many great statues, mosaics and artefacts. We then travelled the beautiful village of Nafplio, marble pavements, looming fortress and remarkable architecture. We had a typical Greek lunch with our guide who was helpful, friendly and had a great sense of humour. In hindsight we are sorry we did not go up to the Palamidi Fortress behind Nafplio but it seemed like way too many steps at the time.
We would highly recommend this tour to everyone wanting to see Ancient Corinth and the lovely seaside village of Nafplio.

We took both the Delphi and Peloponnese Warm Penguin tours and they did not disappoint. There were 7 of us traveling, aged 12 to 55, and we wanted everyone to be happy, so I must have emailed David a dozen or more times with questions about both trips. He was always so informative and cordial and provided prompt and detailed responses. We emailed a lot of different companies when planning our trip, and decided on Warm Penguin because they seemed to be invested in making sure the tour was perfect for us. The day started at 7am, and our driver, Vasilis, picked us up at the house we rented (Villa Olivia in Athens, also highly recommended). Since it was early and we didn't have time to eat, Vasilis stopped at a bakery (the Bread Factory - yummy pies and pastries and bread to take home for later) on the way. We first visited the Corinth canal, and then ancient Corinth. On the drive up, Vasilis narrated the journey with lots of history and facts that helped make the tour come alive, so that by the time we got there we already had a sense of the era, people and historical significance. We toured Ancient Corinth on our own - it's a huge archaeological site with paths and markers that describe what you are seeing, and they had a lovely museum full of artifacts. Then off to Mycenae, to the beehive tombs and fortress castle of Agamemnon. There we took a guide (Theo, who was awesome), visited the tomb and then climbed to the castle, where our guide provided detailed descriptions of the site, rooms, and what happened there when it was a thriving castle. Fascinating, and I recommend a guide for this site - it enriched the experience and helped us imagine what it was like back in the day. From there we traveled through beautiful scenery to Nafplio, and the Acronafplion citadel high on the hill, and again Vasilis provided us with the backstory and history of how general Kolokotronis was imprisoned there, as well as occupation by the Turks and Venetians. Amazing views from there in every direction and the fortree was cool to explore. We ate lunch in the little town of Tolo at Maria's. Delicious and lovely people. Our final stop was Epidauros, with the famous theater, still in use today! The acoustics are so excellent that sound travels to the top of the seats without any sound equipment. Make sure you stand in the middle of the stage and talk or clap. Amazing that it was built in the 4th Century BC and still stands today. This trip crammed a lot into one day, but we never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Vasilis was the perfect driver - and very informative about the area and sites. He answered lots of questions and was a great narrator. His warm personality made us feel welcome and included on the journey, more like family than a driver.
