Great experience, amazing, long queues 😩 don’t go first thing at 10am, be prepared to wait a while, worthwhile

I was expecting more for some reason, but it really is a great museum. They ended up opening 10 minutes late the day we were there, so there was a line all the way around the corner of the block.

Good experience but too many rooms closed off plus not all shows are included in plus one. Had to purchase extra tix for exhibit that we wanted.

This place is absolutely amazing! Such a work of art! Me and my son loved every minute! Apart from the shops they cost so much for gifts! We loved the earth show! Is a bit of a distance from Times Square, so be warned if you're walking! Staff were so helpful and pleasant. They made our stay in New York worth it!

You can spend the entire day here and not see everything. Obviously the dinosaurs are a huge draw, as are the dramatic animal dioramas, and the life size blue whale is impressive! My best suggestion is to pick and choose what you want based on your time, and know you can always come back and see more. Definitely lots of memories to be made!

Children loved the place and had fun. Lots of dinosaurs bones and stuffed animals. Exciting place to explore in a rainy day

Awful organisation and service. Booked tickets and a timed entry for 10 30 am. Outside the museum there were two queues, both snaking around the block. We were in this queue in the cold and the rain for 45 mins whilst the security guards let in the large groups which turned up immediately. Then we got in and were faced with another queue of ~45 mins in order to pick our tickets up! No point in buying tickets in advance because you have to join the same queue as people who walk in off the street. Now it's been over 1.5 hours and we're still waiting to pick up our tickets which were PRE-BOOKED. Every other attraction in New York allows people who have pre-booked to go straight in which minimises the queuing for everyone. The height of stupidity that this can't be done here. We only planned to do here for a few hours as we have other things to do today and we've already spent almost 2 hours just to get in. Would have been better not to have bothered in the first place

Easy entry - no issues & glad I bought in advance- thank you! Very long line to get in - but it moved pretty quickly thanks to having enough staff. We did not tour just followed our own path which is how we preferred.

It was wonderful sharing this experience with my son. Beautiful displays of animals, fossils, birds, bugs, metorites, earth, plants, ocean life and so much more. A must see.

I saw the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz at the Entertainment Room and saw the beautiful dresses of the First Women and learned that they were the wives of the United States presidents. I also realized that the original Grover from the children’s American PBS Kids television show Sesame Street had black fur. I saw the timeline of all of the presidents and took a video of it from right to left using my mother’s phone, which was almost nearly dead. I even saw a video talking about the presidents and their families. I knew that Eleanor Roosevelt was married to Franklin D. Roosevelt, but I at first didn’t know that they had 6 children until I looked it up when my older sister, my mother and I got home to the airbnb that we were staying at during April vacation. This is a really excellent museum, so much to see!! We went on a rainy Saturday in New York City and I felt like every woman, man and their child was also there, so many people and the line outside was so long, luckily we found a second shorter line around the corner (be sure to organize and pay for tickets online before turning up). This is a great and interesting way to spend a few hours in NYC particularly if the weather is bad outside, or if you have young children I would highly recommend this museum, really excellent!!

We live about an hour and a half away and have always enjoyed the many interesting exhibits in this museum. However, on Thursday March 28, 2024 it was a different story. Time specific reservations are now required. I obtained an 11:30 am reservation and based on that I purchased an entrance voucher from my local library. The museum website gives very specific instructions about the necessity of a reservation, so I expected the visitor traffic would be controlled even during a school holiday period. We entered the museum garage at 11:07am and left our jackets n the car, expecting to use the inside elevator to access the admissions desk from within the garage. That was not the case. We had to go outside and get in a very long line waiting for admission. It was lightly raining as we waited for about 40 minutes. As the rain began to increase, I approached a security person at the door to see why the line was not moving. He explained that he let more people in when he was advised it was okay. Based on the length of the remaining line it was clear we should expect at least another 45 minutes wait out in the rain. My husband was standing with a walker and we had brought our 2 grandchildren to spend the day. Since continuing to stand out in the weather (rain)r was not an option, we returned to the garage and went home. Unfortunately, our parking fee was $26.00. The next day I called the museum to complain and request at least a refund of the parking charge. Customer service could not help and transferred me to their Transportation department where I had to leave a voice message. I have not had the courtesy of a return call. Visitors should not count on the timed reservation system. We wasted a day with our grandchildren, driving expenses of a trip into Manhattan, parking fee and expectation an enjoyable visit to the museum. Seriously disappointed.

This museum is HUGE! We were very entertained but by the end alittle fed up. It is not like jn the movie which was a little bit of let down for the kids. It was still a good day out and we dis learn new things

I guess many people will have recollections of where they were what they were doing when 911 happened and just the emotions and feelings they had on the day and the days that follow. I never thought I’d be going to the memorial site. It was just something that never had occurred to me but the opportunity did come up and I’m pleased that we did it. It was quite something to see it up close. Sone of the sights that were seen at the time very very close to us , and made us Stop to think about some of the other things that had occurred that didn’t quite make the media with the many history documentaries that abound on cable tv. It can be quite sombre and some of the personal accounts and voicemails are still quite raw to listen to the last words of people that you’ve never met and what emotions they might have been going through but it is important to have a listen to it . Something worth doing in New York if you have time buy the tickets online so that you can cut the queues and if you can go early, it will be really worthwhile..

Brilliant and interesting way to spend a day. Butterfly exhibition was amazing. Glad we took a few hours to visit. Booking tickets online is convenient and the museum offer a free carer ticket for those eligible.

Seriously outdated and in need of a remodel. The exhibits were dusty and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned out in years! Overly crowded and just way too busy to enjoy it. I'll pass this up next time I'm in NYC.

Spent the afternoon exploring the museum with the family. Fossil exhibits were very well laid out and full of explanations.

It's interesting, it's large, it's like any other natural history museum but much larger. Leaning more towards a traditional natural history museum many of the small free theaters play videos from the 20th century.
