This tour was one of the best we’ve been on in our three months in Europe. Our guide, Eric, was extremely knowledgeable and brought history to life with the stories of individuals who fought and died there. He respectfully captured the somber events of D-Day while keeping the group engaged in meaningful dialog about the past as well as current events. You should not miss this tour.

On a recent trip to France, my wife and I wanted to make a day trip to the Normandy Beaches from Paris. Our Hotel concierge recommended the Gold Beach Touring company. We took a 2 1/2 hour train ride from Paris and were greeted by Daniel from Gold Beach Touring. Daniel spoke perfect English, had a clean / comfortable car to drive us around and took us to Pont du Hoc, Omaha Beach and ended at the American Cemetery (with a great lunch in between). Daniel was prepared and knowledgeable and provided facts and figures we were completely unaware of before. This trip is a must for any American traveling to France. We caught an afternoon train back to Paris and arrived in plenty of time to join our friends for dinner. It was the best experience of our trip

I cannot say enough about this tour. It was definitely a highlight in our trip to France. This is a must see and do for any American in France. Our tour guide, Katell, was the bomb. She had so much knowledge about Normandy, about the invasions and about DDay in particular. She arranged our day making sure that we saw the best of the best. She arranged the stops, entrance into the museum and lunch. She gave us plenty of time in each place to absorb the history. Whatever GBC pays her, it is not enough. She is a true gem.

Outstanding - The tour covers the highlights of the US perspective of D-Day, and we were able to see everything that a mild history buff like me would want in a single day. Our guide Eric was very knowledgeable and provided a great day of learning and sightseeing…you could tell he was passionate about the history and gave a tour that not only taught the detailed history but also honored the sacrifices of that operation.

Katell was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and kept the whole day interesting. Touring the various WWII sites evoke mixed emotions of amazement at the natural beauty of these sites and sadness for the sacrifices made here. I was unprepared for how moving the German cemetery was.

I highly recommend Gold Beach Company for those seeking a professional, educational, and emotionally enriching tour of the Normandy beaches from an American perspective. Kate, (Katell is her French name) was simply an amazing guide! The only thing that exceeded her exceptional knowledge was her kindness. We were joined by a woman who was visiting a relative buried at the American Cemetery. Kate was able to help her navigate through a difficult journey with genuine empathy, even fixing a broken zipper in her coat to shield against the windy beaches. She made a long day into an extraordinary experience. We're still talking about this highlight of a 3 week trip to France! Thank you Kate!

Our family of four booked a WWII Normandy tour during our time in Bayeux. Matthew, our tour guide was fantastic!! He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the history of the sites in an easily understandable way! We were the only ones on our tour that day and Matthew took the time to get to know our interests and even added a stop on our tour relating to these interests. I would highly recommend this tour!!

Alex was extremely knowledgable! I would highly recommend him every time. He was very kind, go with the flow, and a good story teller. Alex had planned a picnic spot for us to stop for lunch, but it started to rain- when one of our group members suggested eating in a German bunker, Alex was all for it! He showed us so many memorable items that made learning the history of D-Day that much more real.

The tour guide was a nice guy however I think he focused (and appeared knowledgeable) on the strategy aspects more than the human element and the atmosphere, having studied D Day and the Resistance and been to the Normandy beaches I could leave the group and wander around, to be fair I only did the tour so that my friend whose first visit did not have to drive. Thats where these tours are great no parking problems. An example was when we arrived the group just stood in the town centre listening to the guide with little opportunity to take in the town and atmosphere. The guide could have spoken about the personal / human elements a bit more. I was surprised when I told him my father's ship HMS Warspite was at dday and supported the American landings he told me the the Warspite did not arrive to Normandy until after the 8th of June, which of course is not true as the Warspite was the first ship to open fire on Normandy she returned to the UK only to return to support on the American beaches. Little mistakes make others think.how accurate was the information this occurred on a number of occasions. All said he was a very approachable guide he just needs to in my view reduce the stats and more human element to hold his audience , and let them wander around a little bit more. would I recommend def but, read a bit about DDay before you go. It's not cheap but you do get to the right areas

It was so impressed by our guide, Matt, and his level of knowledge of the Normandy campaign. He also found out information of my grandfather's service which we hadn't known before. Matt took the time to print off a whole packet of information which was fantastic. My entire family loved the day! Highly recommend this tour and especially with Matt!

Pour les passionnées de la bataille de Normandie comme nous ,cette excursion a été au delà de nos attentes . Encore un grand merci Matt.

My wife and I enjoyed two fantastic days with Katell doing a deep dive not only into the history of the Normandy landings, but the history of Northern France as well. Having been a history major in college and someone who is knowledgeable about WW2 through my studies, literature, TV documentaries and the mini-series Band of Brothers, it was a very powerful experience to stand where the final act of WW2 began. Kate's depth of knowledge is impressive and she fills in the larger story with smaller lesser known details of the invasion which really makes it come alive again when you are actually there. There is the much deeper history of the region and here too Kate really shined with the tales of the old world stretching back the days of the Romans. The itinerary was perfect and Kate had a wide range of options to mix things up a bit if we wanted. This flexibility allowed us time to visit the Bayeux tapestry which complimented the primer history lesson Kate had given us during our travels through the countryside. We really owe her a HUGE thank you for helping us set up covid tests at a Bayeux pharmacy so we could make double sure we would be set to return to the US. Having that CR code in hand was a massive relief! Just all around fantastic experience - Kate is a true professional and a master of her craft! On time, spotless van each morning, flexible, great restaurant recommendation in Bayeux, the list goes on and on. She was wonderful - Thank you so much for making our two days in Normandy an experience of a lifetime!

I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Americans and their role in DDay. Eric my guide was passionate and knowledgeable. There was also a good mix of being able to explore certain things on your own within a time frame after an introduction and some important tips from our guide such as where to stand to see the lowering of the flag at the cemetery to get the best view!

Everything about this day was more special than I ever imagined. Kate was our tour guide and She answered every question thoroughly, even those posed by a WWII vet. I wish she had been my history teacher in school. I know I would’ve paid more attention she was so interesting. My favorite parts of the tour was when we were on Utah beach and also the American cemetery. I will never forget my experiences there. I have gone on many tours before around the world and this tour today was by far the best! Thank you Kate, for a most memorable day for me.
