My husband and another couple did this walk through Portland from our cruise ship. I have to say our guide Mike was just fantastic. HIs enthusiasm and energy can be felt when he talks about the town. He kept it interesting and moved at a great pace. He also provided excellent restaurant suggestions for after. I highly recommend.
More than one hours over the expected time, we quit before the end. We missed the bakery.
Mike was interesting.
Our tour guide Mike was not only knowledgeable and informative but also very entertaining ! We thoroughly enjoyed walking around Downtown Portland and surrounding neighborhoods learning about their history. Along the way we discovered some new shops to visit and recommendations for good restaurants. This two hour plus tour is an excellent value and ends with a nice treat at a local bakery and optional for those who are interested a stop at a local craft beer bar. For us this was the perfect experience but we want to Stress this is a WALKING tour, so if you don't want to do a lot ( more than a mile ) of walking this is not for you.
We had 3 other Portland tours during our stay prior to taking this walking tour. It was a very good way of seeing the city and learning more about its history. We enjoyed it and I highly recommend it.
Our guide was very informative and we enjoyed a nice walk through Portland. I would have preferred going into sites, such as the Longfellow House and the a more comprehensive tour of the historic burial grounds vs looking at buildings. Very nice refreshing break and an added treat at the end of the tour. I think a 90 minute tour would have satisfied us more than the 120 minute tour.
