A morning with the elephants is an eye-opening and inspiring experience. Following a scenic drive along a local village you will arrive at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, a picturesque jungle dotted with ponds, wide open fields and hillsides for the elephants to roam around.
Your visit starts at our Tree Top Lounge, where we will show you a presentation and educational video to prepare you for your encounter with the elephants, and to help you understand why they need to be protected.
Next up, the elephants are fed. While they enjoy their baskets of bananas, pineapples and cucumbers, you have a chance to learn from our guides about the background of each elephant.
Once the elephants are fed, we follow them down into the jungle. By keeping a safe distance and watching them from our Observation Salas, the elephants have the freedom to express their natural behavior, from bathing and playing in our pond to socializing with each other.
The program ends with a delicious Thai vegetarian meal.

We had an absolutely amazing experience, our guide had an in depth knowledge of the elephants and she also told us about the intricacies of tourism vs animal ethics and how, due to prior training/injuries, the elephants are reliant on the mahouts. She was also extremely animated with a brilliant sense of humour, which added to the experience. The elephants were well cared for and clearly loved. They all had their own back stories and personalities. Elephant welfare was at the forefront of the experience- no bull hooks in sight. The mahouts used food as incentives. Currently there are 10 elephants that use the 30 acres- the elephants take priority over the tourist…you move out of their way! The canopy walkway is also a brilliant way of observing the elephants without disturbing them. The sanctuary promotes natural behaviours- you are able to feed the elephants and there is one that tolerates touch very well. There are plenty of close up photo opportunities . The transport, lunch and refreshments were also very good. We would highly recommend this experience.This is a wonderful facility housing abused older elephants and giving them freedom and a sanctuary from exploitation. We had a morning walking around the sanctuary with lunch after. The guides and mahouts are very friendly and will answer all our young children’s questions (as well as mine!). ...
This is a wonderful facility housing abused older elephants and giving them freedom and a sanctuary from exploitation. We had a morning walking around the sanctuary with lunch after. The guides and mahouts are very friendly and will answer all our young children’s questions (as well as mine!). All the money goes to running the facility. There is a shop to buy souvenirs afterwards but there is no hard sell. I would thoroughly recommend visiting here. You get to see the elephants very close up, feed them and (as long as the mahouts say they are in the right mood) you can touch these magnificent animals. One warning though, you will never look at circus and beach elephant rides the same way again.AMAZING EXPERIENCE .Everyone was so nice and kind and we even got to pet the elephants.lunch came with it.The elephants were treated so nicely and well fed.We complimentary snacks were amazing.♥️♥️😎😎👍👍🏿
