Duran was a most able and enthusiastic tour guide. We saw highlights of the historic city with stories about how these places were connected to Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s life and work. We later went on a second tour with Duran to historic Palenque. This was a very unique excursion, one I recommend to all visitors to CartagenaAngel was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the author and his country. It was by far the best tour we took and if I return I will use him again for sure. Not only a tour guide, but an awesome story teller as well!

Yesterday we went on this tour with Duran. He made an awesome accommodation and did the tour on bikes. I fell in love with Cartagena. Duran took us to quite a few memorable places that were well of the beaten path. It is a unique experience to go into museums, schools, hotels, universities, bars, and bookstores that all have meaning to the life of Marquez but I would have passed over due to my lack of knowledge. We had a great experience and DuranDuranTours was uber professional the whole tour. I cannot recommend this tour and DuranDuranTours enough.I was very disappointed. I am an avid reader and wanted to go on this tour but they would not allow one tourist. Not sure why. I was pass through on business and i try to make the most of my time visiting. I hope they change their policy.
