Stop At: Charlotte NC Tours, 101 S Tryon St Suite 16, Charlotte, NC 28280-0002
This address is the location of our main office and is where the tour begins. (Map error - ZIP CODE is 28202) We are located ALL THE WAY INSIDE the ONE SOUTH AT THE PLAZA building at 101 S. Tryon St. (Same building as THE OMNI HOTEL.) Up two short flights of stairs to the far left of Walgreens and Which Wich (NOT up the escalator).

Pass By: Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 420 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202-1937
We view the OUTSIDE of the museums on S. Tryon St.
Stop At: Mint Museum Uptown, 500 S Tryon St Levine Center for the Arts, Charlotte, NC 28202-1811
We stop in the area where our major Uptown museums are located.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Fourth Ward Park, 301 N Poplar St Central Park Region, Charlotte, NC 28202-1617
We ride through the Fourth Ward Park after viewing some the 18th/19th Century architecture.
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: The Green, 425 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202-2791
We ride through this quirky and popular park right at the end of the tour.
Duration: 5 minutes
Additional information
- MUST BE ON TIME FOR THIS TOUR! Arrive 30-45 min. before start time for training!!!
- Minimum suggested age is 12 years old, but MUST weigh at least 100 lbs.
- Not wheelchair accessible
- For participants under 18, they must be with a parent or responsible party 21 yrs or older and have a signed waiver from a parent
- Minimum weight is 100lbs so the Segway computer can respond to your movement.
- Near public transportation
- Maximum weight is 280lbs.
- Dress code: Ideally wear comfortable closed toe shoes (though not required), weather appropriate layers, and no hats under helmets. Gloves recommended on cold days
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Most travelers can participate
- No pregnant travelers are allowed
- NOT recommended for those who might struggle in VERY HOT weather.
- NOT ALLOWED FOR PREGNANT PARTICIPANTS!
- NOT recommended for those who've had somewhat recent hip or knee replacements
- NOT recommended for those with unpredictable blood sugar issues.
- Participants must be able to stand for 1.5 -2 hrs and be able to climb stairs unaided.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers

This was our first time doing a segway tour. Initially, we booked it and received an introduction text from Carol. She answered any and all of my questions and sent us such thorough texts explaining how we should proceed. We then arrived for our scheduled tour and completed the orientation with carol. She was lovely and the intro was thorough. She then took us outside for a “hands on” introduction. She was patient and kind and allowed us time to reach a comfort level. We were then introduced to our tour guide Rod. He was so patient, thorough and knowledgeable . He showed us around the city, gave us such interesting accounts of history and interjected personal stories to truly make for a memorable day! I can not speak highly enough about the whole experience. It was amazing! Thank you carol and rod for a memorable day!I've always wanted to try a segway tour in a city. Toured around the city and saw tucked away gems, homes, parks, etc. Even learned a few things we didn’t know! (and we’ve lived here over 20 years…). I’d do it again in other cities / areas.
