I enjoyed learning about Dali‘s life and trauma, and how that impacted his art. I was surprised to learn he never had intercourse, not even with his lifelong companion Gala. Girona was a beautiful place to walk around in.

The visit itself was amazing, so glad to have had the chance to see Girona and the Dali Museum. The tour guide, Gasper, was knowledgeable and stuck to the schedule pretty well so that we were on time. However, there were factors that weren't necessarily controllable that dampened the trip a bit (...
The visit itself was amazing, so glad to have had the chance to see Girona and the Dali Museum. The tour guide, Gasper, was knowledgeable and stuck to the schedule pretty well so that we were on time. However, there were factors that weren't necessarily controllable that dampened the trip a bit (i.e. very crowded museum, extremely demanding and unreasonable tour members). THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND: - The tour van just barely fits 8 people, but my guess is they will always max out the tour group when possible. There are two rows of 3 in the back, and then there's 2 smaller seats up front next to the driver. This makes it so that in order to ensure a comfortable drive, most people will need to be at an average to slim (definitely slim for the front row) body size. - The tour guide will try to rotate the members of the tour around for each segment of the drive so that everyone gets the chance to suffer the small seats in the front. However, for my group, we had a very demanding mom that just absolutely refused to move from the back row with her two children, and even though my family (3 of us) originally were seated in the middle row, we had to be split up because the older couple that sat in the front claimed they couldn't sit there comfortably and so for pretty much the entirety of the trip, my family took turns sitting in the small seats in the front because we're not unreasonable and selfish like everyone else apparently. I understand there's not much a tour guide can do to force people to rotate seats, but I also don't feel like it was fair that we got stuck with the awful seats the whole time. Maybe they should only limit the tour groups to 6 people so that no one has to sit crammed into the windshield in the front. After all, what if multiple people had larger bodies or were super tall? Those 2 seats would just be not viable. - There will always, always be that one person in a tour group that always asks for more time and never wants to stick to a schedule because they think their time is more important than anyone else's. The tour guide was good about compromising but still maintaining our timely return to Barcelona. - Also not something the tour guide could really control, but one of the older ladies in the group had this horrible cough in the van and I appreciated that he asked her to put a mask on, although in the end I still think she got us all sick. - While I appreciate the tour guide for taking us through the Dali museum and explaining many works of art, sometimes the rooms were very very crowded and personally I feel it would have been better to let us choose if we wanted to move around freely ourselves or if we wanted to stick with the group. I personally studied art in college so I wanted to just see everything, not just look at specific works of art and bypass things in order to keep up with the group. We did get free time at the end (about 30mins), but that meant we had to go BACK to all the rooms and look at artwork we had previously skipped. Overall, it was great and my parents loved it, but definitely was a bit exhausting dealing with all the personalities (not at the fault of the tour company, though). My only suggestion to mitigate these sorts of issues would be to limit the size of the tour even more - or have a larger van.Heather C

Our guide Gaspar was wonderful. His knowledge and love of art was a joy to see and experience. He consulted with the group at every turn as to the timing of the day and when we had breaks he had recommendations for gelato, lunch , coffee. A consummate professional.
