Overview
Depart Amman North to Ajlun Castle, a Saracen fortress which is a mere 16 km from Jerash. The castle is located on the top of a mountain just outside the small city of Ajlun. It is an interesting maze of passages and levels, and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area, northwestern Jordan, and off into Galilee. Continue to the ruins of Jerash, one of the Middle East's best examples of a Greco-Roman provincial city. At the entrance of the site, admire Hadrian's Arch, built in 129 AD to mark Emperor Hadrian's visit, and the Hippodrome, a partially restored Roman-era stadium. Once inside, accompanied by a private, local guide, wander the colonnaded streets and discover its most important monuments: Temples, Theaters, Baths, Oval Plaza, Nymphaeum, along with several Byzantine churches dating from the Christian era. Return to Amman.

Jordan Direct was easy to work with and offered a great tour and great value. My wife and I had a driver to guide us through all of the tour, so everything was preplanned and arranged for us. We saw Aljun nd Jerash, spent a day in Amman, visited Mt. Nebo and Medaba, spent a night in a resort on the Dead Sea, two nights in Petra, and a night in the desert at Wadi Rum. Our first experience in an Arab and Muslim country was wonderful. The people were always warm and welcoming. We will never forget our time with Sufian, our wonderful driver and guide. We'll also remember Hasim who built a fire and served us tea in the desert. We would highly recommend others to visit Jordan and work with Jordan Direct Tours.David K

We did a full day private tour starting with the Amman Citadel, continuing on to Ajlun Castle, and finishing up in Jerash. I went back and forth on emails with this company to get the ideal itinerary for us. Without any issues, our driver met us on time at our hotel for pickup. We had a lovely...
We did a full day private tour starting with the Amman Citadel, continuing on to Ajlun Castle, and finishing up in Jerash. I went back and forth on emails with this company to get the ideal itinerary for us. Without any issues, our driver met us on time at our hotel for pickup. We had a lovely day touring everything. I really wanted to do some shopping to take back souvenirs for home, and our driver graciously took me to one of his favorite places, and I shopped for about 45 minutes. That was so kind of him to add that time on to our trip. He was so sweet and kind to us all day long. This was a great day trip, and I recommend using this company for such a thing if you are interested.Eric B

We arranged our own flights and worked with Jordan Direct Tours to book the hotels, and tours to all the key sights (Amman, Desert Castles, Petra, Jerash, Ajlun, Mt Nebo, Madaba, Kerak) with private car and driver. We also spent a night at the Dead Sea and a night in a camp at Wadi Rum. All hotels were a high standard. Our driver, Malik, was excellent and pointed out several great food stops for lunch. He was a very good driver, always arrived in good time for pick ups and the car was always clean and well stocked with water, tissues etc. Everything went to plan and we had a wonderful time and would love to go back in the future to see the things we did not have time for. We would certainly use Jordan Direct again.Twinkletoes68

We spent a fabulous week in Jordan thanks to Jordan select. Our driver guide younis was great knowledgeable and friendly. They organised the hotels and tours and guides. Our driver took us through the off beaten tracks and driving routes. He also identified local restaurants to try local Food. That made it so special as we always like to try new dishes whenever we travel. He Audi took us to shop the local favourites - olives and spices. We covered Amman Jerash Kerak castle Mt nebu. Petra. Wadi rum. Aqaba Abd Dead Sea Unforgettable trip !
