Stop At: Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub), Si Champa Alley, Mae Klong 75000 Thailand
The Railway Market is humorously called as the “life-risking” market! You will have fun riding a local train toward the Mae Klong station. While on this train, you will see the “Unseen-Thailand” experience. When the train signal rings up, the chaos will happen! Vendors will rush to detract their stall and clear away all goods that obstructs the running train at a great speed. Once the train passes, all shop owners will resume their stalls again. The transportation from Maeklong Railway market to Bangkok is about 1 hour 50 minutes.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Wat Bang Kung, Bang Kung, Bang Khonthi 75120 Thailand
Wat Bang Kung is one of the most iconic attractions in the Amphawa district. The temple is famous for its roots and branches of the Banyan tree that locked the ordination hall housing the “Luang Por Nin Manee”, the golden buddha image dated back to the Ayutthaya period. In the 18th century, Wat Bang Kung is the gathering place of Thai heroic warriors so it houses many statues showing Thai boxing posture. This place is therefore a great photo-taking spot for foreign travelers.

Visit a coconut sugar farm near Amphawa floating market. At this factory, you will learn how Thai farmers produce coconut nectar. This will be your eye-opening experience!

Stop At: Amphawa Floating Market, Amphawa 75110 Thailand
Amphawa Floating Market is one of the traditional floating markets which is a utopia for shopping lovers. The market offers a variety of Thai seafood, snack, and a sweet treat at a very affordable price. You can buy grilled fish, squid, prawns, steamed crab, and oysters from many shops along the canal. On the other hand, if you are a big fan of fresh fruit, you can buy lychees, mangosteens, and custard apples that are freshly harvested from nearby fruit farms here.

We had a fantastic trip with Lin - it was jam-packed but never felt rushed. We started with the railway market where Lin got us a prime position to watch the train past. We then went to the floating market and coconut farm. The boat trip around the market was great, we had a lot of time to take photos and see how people live. Final stop was the salt farm. Throughout Lin was extremely knowledgeable, patient while we took photos and most importantly took us to the best food stalls at the market! Highly recommend this trip to all.We had the tour on 01-Sep-23. Despite booking it the last minute, the confirmation was instant. We had the tour on 01-Sep-23. Despite booking it the last minute, the confirmation was instant. We had a lovely tour guide Pop who was always happy to assist, our bubbly driver Samran, as well as boat man Wat who brought us to the perfect spot to see and interact with the fireflies! One thing to consider, Maeklong railway market is busier in the morning. Most stalls were closed by the time we got there at half past four (last train is at 5.40). If you want to see all the action, book a morning tour. Personally, a Friday night visit to the Amphawa market is perfect because there are not as many people. It’s only open Friday to Sunday. Had some delish local food there for dinner before heading back to Bangkok. We learned that the best season for fireflies are during rainy season. We were lucky as it just rained and the trees lit up like Christmas trees that night! I have never seen that many fireflies. Lots of them came to us to say hi. Such a fun experience.
