Stop At: Venetian Tower of Durrës, 8C5W+VQ8, Durrës, Albania
Built in the sixth century, it was considered as one of the most powerful fortresses along the western coast of the Adriatic. Architectonic elements of the structure and historic records show that the fortress was rebuild in the first half of the fifteenth century, when Durrës was ruled by the Republic of Venice.

Stop At: Berat Castle, Rruga Mihal Komnena, Berat 5001 Albania
We will visit the three neighbourhoods of Berat, Mangalemi - Gorica and Castle. Will walk to the mos beautiful spot in the castle, visit the churches and the Onufri Museum.

Stop At: National Iconographic Museum Onufri, Located in the Inner Part of Saint Mary Church in Berat Castel, Berat Albania
This Museum honours the many Albanian master painters of the 16th century, specifically Onufri, who is responsible for a rich legacy of iconography in the country.

Our experience was great. We started off going to Durres from Tirana to see the city overlook, Roman ruins and beach park. Then we drove to Berate to see the town, castle and have a local food lunch. The best part of the day was being with our tour guide, Blede. His English was great, and he was knowledgeable, welcoming, and went out of his way to make our experience memorable. We felt like a good friend or family member was spending the day with us. We liked him so much, he gave us a half-day tour the next day.It was an enriching experience! Our guide was Ilir. He's a quite experienced guide, with a huge knowledge of the history of the country, giving a lot of information and context about the country and places visited. He also was giving/offering suggestions during the trip to make our experience fully complete. The tour is fantastic for a day trip, where you can visit two of the main important places of Albania such as Durres and Berat. As suggestion, our way back to Tirana was modified in order to do the road trip through the lakes region and do a short stop in Elbasan. I would definitely recommend this trip and it was a real pleasure that Ilir could be our guide.
