Amazing family day out! Our guide Daryl was fantastic! Learned so much about the island and history. Lunch was beautiful, could not fault this trip, definitely a worth experience!

We did the all day Land Rover tour from Hersonissos to Cave of Zeus. Also including shepherds hut with cheese, olive oil factory and raki tasting, Kristas village, off road to a mountain viewpoint and bbq Greek style lunch. A very nice fun day out which everyone really enjoyed. Kostas was very informative and gave us a lot of interesting info about history, local wildlife etc. Highlights were the cave, the lunch and spectacular Mountain View which you would need a 4x4 to reach

We had such a fantastic day doing the safari. Daryll our driver was so informative and such a good laugh. It is totally worth the money and showed us so much of the island of Crete we would not have known or seen otherwise. The olive oil tasting, cheese tasting n bbq lunch is such a good bonus to the tour. Ages ranged from 70-14 years old in our group of 8 and all loved it.

All the stops were wonderful and tasting the local olive oil, cheeses, and Raki were a highlight. Our guide Nicki’s was great and very funny. Lunch at the cafe was amazing. It was the best tour yet!

Wow! Food and fun. Nikos was our guide and driver. He clearly loves his job! We had fun seeing the breathtaking sights, eating Cretan treats, drinking the Raki, playing with goats(and leaning how the cheese is made), seeing a 2000 year old tree, hearing about history and the way of life. We did not want the tour to end. The samples and lunch were delicious and we did not feel rushed. We had time to stretch our legs, shop a bit and enjoy the company. Great day!

We just come back from our day out driven around in a LandRover Discovery we spent the day in the fantastic company of our driver and guide Darryl. He was very knowlegeable about the island and we had lots of regular stops for photos, refreshments, Raki, food and wine - which was all included. We stopped off to taste some extra virgin olive oil, and Raki. We met up with local farmers and fed their mountain goats and ate their goats cheese. We stopped off to go and see "the cave that Zeus was born in". To get there it was a 20 minute walk up a steep hill and Darryl was very good and explained clearly that this was optional and those that did not want to carry out the walk could relax and have a coffee in a local bar with him. There was also an option to take a donkey to carry you up the hill for 10 Euros. The cave itself was lovely and cool although had lots of steps to walk down in to it and back out. There was a fee of 4 Euros to enter the cave - children were free. The mountain roads we drove along were very rocky and there were a few hair pin bends,but Darryl was an excellent and very skilled driver. All in all an excellent day and well worth excursion to go on to get out and about and see the real Crete. Massive Darryl for making it memorable

Driver host Stavros took us on an all-day 4x4 trip around the island and it was utterly fantastic. Stavros was a genius; charismatic, knowledgeable, funny, and full of emotional intelligence to tailor his work to a range of personalities on the trip to ensure everyone benefited fully from the experience. Superb. The tour started with pick-up from hotel, lasted about 7 hours and ended with being dropped back at the hotel. Would suggest it's apt for at least averagely mobile folk. Places visited: Aposelimi Dam, Lyttos, Kastamonitsa, Shepherd Hut, Lassithi Plateau, Cave of Zeus, and Krasi.

Nikos gives an amazing tour! I had an amazing time on the Safari Landrover tour. Nikos has an amazing knowledge of Crete and makes sure everyone has a good time. Incredible sights, food, Raki and banter. I would recommend this tour and guide to everyone. Such a great day!!

We really enjoyed this trip with our guide Daryl. We went to an olive oil factory, small villages in the mountain, Zeus’ cave, a shepherds hut to try cheese and Raki and to a taverna for a lovely traditional lunch! Coming down the mountains on a dirt track was a little hairy as not what we are used to, but we really enjoyed the day and so glad we did the trip! Thank you

We booked the safari with our tour rep Jet2. Geoff from safari club took my husband and I and a few other lovely people from France and America. (8 in total) We got picked up at our hotel. Taken to a lovely Greek town for coffee and a rest stop. Then onto another town where we tried olives, cheese, honey and raki. We could also buy goods too. We then went on up through the mountains with several stops for photos and sightseeing. Geoff told us all about the area, the trees and growth, animals and about Hislop hill (Ian Hislop and his wife holiday there) ha ha. Then we went to Zeus cave where he was born walked 200 odd steps up and down into the cave. (not for the faint hearted I might add) ha ha then it was off to have our meal. The meal and service was excellent. ( Roast potatoes, chicken, pork, salads, tzatziki, raki and wine) absolutely beautiful. then we were taken back to our hotel. Really loved this safari. It was a great day and well worth the money. But I would try and see if your hotel has the same trip before booking with your rep because we found it to be about 3o euro cheaper through them. All in all, a lovely day. Thank you to Geoff for his expertise and friendly nature.

Absolutely amazing day out I can not recommend this enough. Plenty of stops, phenomenal scenery and our tour guide Gary was fantastic. If you are wanting a great day out book this!!

Brilliant trip - knowledgeable staff, beautiful views and sights and sounds of culture. Food was impeccable and learning about the Cretan way of life was inspiring. I’ve stolen wording from someone below about Geoff who was our guide as if sums it up perfectly: Geoff simply made the trip for us as he was so knowledgable about everything including making the trip a whole round experience showing us local plantation, animals, culture, religion and the great life Cretan people live on this wonderful island. He is the nicest person we have met and was so engaging you just didn’t want the tour to end and we were lucky to have such a great guy as our guide, thank you Geoff!

The trip lasted the full day and was packed full of stops at points of interest. Our driver, Darryl, was excellent, he was very passionate as well as personable and knowledgeable about the island and its history. I would reccomend this tour to anyone who visits crete to have your perspective of the island changed.

Wonderful day out exploring the Minoan route with Safari Club Crete and our amazing guide Kostas! My wife and I were picked up at our Heraklion hotel and the adventure began. Along with 3 other couples we explored high up in the Cretan mountains. Among the highlights of the day we fed mountain goats while vultures were also feeding on something nearby, went to a traditional old farm that had goats and cheese making, stopped off at a lovely village and had a greek coffee and sampled Raki and Greek olive oil, and hiked up to Zeus birthplace which is in a remote cave in the mountains. After all of this we had lunch in another beautiful village with traditional Cretan home cooking. Thank you to my niece Lauren for the rec and to Safari Club and Kostas for our memorable and fun full day in Crete!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day out with our driver George, he was very knowledgeable and made sure our day was perfect. We got picked up from our hotel and dropped back off after what I can call one of our best adventures ever, will struggle to beat this one. Thank you for and amazing day George.

The trip was amazing, Mickel our guide was fantastic, took time to explain things to us all, as some people on our tour spoke different lauguages to us. We had various stops on our trip and we never felt rushed. I definitely recommend this company and when we return to Crete again we will book with this company again

The trip was simply exceptional and the best part of our holiday! The views were simply stunning, including panoramic views of the island, Zeus’s cave, the local villages and the animals. The food and drink at the local taverna was simply stunning and we didn’t want to leave. The tour was great and well worth it. The route and tour guide gave us great views on and off road. Our tour guide Michael was excellent. He was knowledgable, funny and got us all involved and made us feel very included. The experience was well worth it. Highly recommend it. Sara & John

This was an absolutely spectacular day. Michael was our guide/expert Land Rover driver. There were 10 of us in total, and by the end, we were all bonded. :-). You will drive ever upward to amazing heights in a true off-roading experience, stopping ultimately on a mountain top where you will see (they enjoyed the RX bar we fed them :-) a herd of goats and later meet a shepherd, learn the process of making goat cheese, "enjoy" shots ("Yamas!") of raki (remember Ever Clear from college?-40-65% proof...) and cheese, see some beautiful sights, have lunch in a lovely outdoor restaurant, and SO much more. A tremendous value. Not to be missed!
