This was such a great small group tour - only 7 people. Andres was a great tour guide who kept us on time while also being extremely personable and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wishing to explore Douro family and learn more about the special Port wine of Portugal!

What a wonderful way to experience the Douro Valley. Our small mixed group visited 2 wine Quintas, sampled both Port wine and a mixture of white, rose and red wines. We had great hosts who served the wines, gave us a tour around and explained so many things about the making of each wine. We had a very authentic lunch, followed by a boat trip up the Douro River with some amazing views of the terraced vineyards. The whole experience was made all the more special by Sofia (our guide) who's depth of knowledge of Portuguese and Douro history was spot on. Her personality, enthusiasm and drive to ensure everyone had a great experience, rounded everything off into a perfect Douro day. Our guide, Enrique, was very knowledgeable and exceptional as well as a good driver. With beautiful sunny weather which is rare in November in the area, our group of 8 enjoyed the view of the Douro Valley along with history and culture of the wine making. We chose this tour because of the itinerary stated on the website visiting 3 wineries out of 4, Quinta do Tedo, Quinta do Bomfim, Quinta do Beijo, and D'Origem. We wanted to visit Quinta do Bomfim, Quinta do Beijo, D'Origem but the company didn't give us the opportunity to choose nor notified us that they changed the itinerary. I was very disappointed and upset when the guide told me that they had changed the itinerary. We ended up visiting Qinta do Vieira de Sousa for tasting, Quinta do Bomfim for tasting, and Quinta do Cume for tour & tasting. Although we generally enjoyed the wine tour and tastings, I wanted to point out that they should've let their customers know of any changes of the itinerary specifically stated on the website. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour. The group was just the right size. Our guide, Sofia, was knowledgeable, personable, and engaging. She somehow managed to customize her presentation to the interests of each member of the group. The wineries visited were smaller, higher quality vineyards and not the larger overly commercialized establishments. The winery tours were well done, covering the high-level technical process of making port as well as the historical and cultural background of the wine making industry in the Douro Valley—everything needed to better select and enjoy Portuguese wines. Other highlights of the tour included a delicious multi-course lunch and a scenic river cruise. We highly recommend it.We very much enjoyed this tour! We very much enjoyed this tour! Cheila, our kind and knowledgeable tour guide, was right on time picking our group of 8 people up, conveniently right at the door of our accommodation in Porto. We visited three wineries, one large, one medium, and one small. We tried some excellent wine and learned about the port making process. It was a rainy day, but we did not get wet because the tour is well organized and door-to-door. Lunch was delicious and traditional. I would (and have!) highly recommend this tour.
