We met in the tour bus area of the View hotel packing lot. Our guide, John, was checking for guests and if all the guests arrived early, we might have left earlier. Our guide John was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was great to learn about the Monument Valley, its history, and past and present Navajo culture, and getting the native perspective. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, and this was the first exposure to Navajo culture. (We saw that water was included in the tour, but we were the only guest who had asked for water.) We saw multiple spots that are not accessible to tourists driving themselves. We also got to see wild horses, sheep, and a local's house from outside area as we passed through the road. (If I may add one thing, some of the information about which films were shot in Monument Valley was not accurate. I looked up the films after returning from the trip and was disappointed to learn that they were filmed in other, similar looking regions. Monument Valley is still a significant and amazing environment, still!)

Being out in the open air without a restricted view. Our guide was great. So informative and helpful. He was a master at helping us get the right pictures and even how to work our phones to improve on the quality of pictures. So glad we chose a guided tour. Would do it again.

This tour was amazing! Yvonne (von) was our guide. She took amazing pictures of us and even taught us about which filter to use in the valley to best capture the colors. She answered all of our questions and provided us with information on aspect of the geological and cultural histories.. She brought us to the arches and petroglyphs. The back country tour is a must!! So peaceful. People from other tours were listening to our guide!!

John was our Navajo guide and did an excellent job! He took us to all the great photo opportunities. Took us to places we could not have seen in our car.

John was an amazing guide. We learned so much about Navajo history and culture. All of the monuments and everything else we saw were so well explained. Highly recommend. I’m so glad we didn’t decide to drive the loop ourselves. We definitely wouldn’t have had the same experience!

We took the 9am tour with our Navajo guide John. It was a beautiful cool morning, perfect for our tour. The views were excellent in the back country. John was very knowledgeable at describing the Navajo history and culture of the valley. Very interesting and a must see tour of the sandstone mountain monuments. I highly recommend this 2 1/2 hour tour.

The whole visual experience of Monument valley, soaking in centuries of history makes you feel so small. The Red Rock formations rising high into the sky just add to the mystery of the whole place. ❤️

Joe was a great tour guide and having done this over 30 years now, his stories and friendly discussions were excellent and filled the entire tour well. He also pointed out good photo sites and his mastery of the iPhone photo app is impressive. However - understand that this is a hurry up and wait operation. We arrived at the meetup area which is in the parking lot, just down a set of stairs from the main entrance of the hotel. We arrived at 8:45am as indicated, but then proceeded to wait for another 20-25 minutes. We also were in an open 4x4, so it was very windy and cold given that this is early April. So just make sure to bring layers depending on the time of year you take the tour. There is no way you would get even a tenth of the understanding of this beautiful region if you did the 17 mile self-drive. Skip the self-drive and spend the money on a tour. Highly recommend.

Great tour great value! We went on a very windy day, the guide was helpful and provided us masks. The road was VERY bumpy so I highly recommend booking a tour so we don’t need to drive and risk our rental car. Friendly reminder to check out the time zone difference between Navajo Nation and the rest of Arizona/Utah, cuz it can get tricky especially with Daylight Saving and we almost missed the tour for this reason

Very knowledgeable guide, who shared aspects of the Dine (Navajo) culture, history, and challenges. Seeing the valley and it’s truly monumental scenery.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Joseph as our guide. The park is stunning. He provided great cultural information and history. He made the trip even more enjoyable by taking some fun photos of us. I think he knows how to use my iPhone better than me. Highly recommend the tour.

The tour was the incredible, Joe was an amazing tour guide, so knowledgeable and informative. He showed us how to get the best pics and even took many photos for us making sure we could get our whole family in the shot. We would definitely book again. You will not be disappointed with Joe and Dineh Bekeyah Tours.

We had a great time with our guide John. He was very friendly and took his time explaining the sites we were seeing and gave lots of cultural insights and information. We would have missed out on a lot had we just done a self guided tour as we got to see more and learned about what we were seeing.

Great tour. Excellent tour guide (Joseph). Shared great stories about his life and the culture. Visited numerous locations not allowed by the self-drivers. I'm so glad I didn't drive my rented car down into Monument Valley, even though it was an SUV.

This was a last minute booking that turned out to be an incredible experience. It was perfect for us because they are pet friendly. Our tour guide was John, local native who took us on a journey throughout the park. He was charming, funny, and knowledge about his native culture. We made several stops but at Eagle Eye, we took pictures and he played his flute. I regret not saying it was my birthday after he asked. I’m sure he would have played something lovely. That was a nice detail and we appreciated that. If we could do this tour again, we would do it in a heartbeat. The price was well worth it. Until we meet again.

What a fun and beautiful excursion. The landscape doesn't need any superlatives, it's all there in front of you. My guide, Lee, was a great source of information about the geology/timelines, but also about the Dineh who have lived there for over a thousand years. A very fulfilling trip, highly recommended.

Our family took the 2.5 hour tour with our four kids ages 6, 8, 10, and 13. We all loved the tour and the kids weren't ready for it be over.

We absolutely LOVED our guide, Lee. He was such a sweet man, had tons of knowledge and was just a joy to be around. He’s an amazing photographer as well. We had the best time - only wish I’d booked a longer trip. 10/10!

Fantastic off-road tour with an outstanding guide who was well informed about Navajo culture & history, as well as the geology, plants & wildlife of Monument Valley. Our trip included a visit to a Navajo hogan (mud house) with a weaving demonstration and a talk about Navajo life - as well as the expected mesas, buttes arches and petroglyphs (rock drawings). Well worth doing. There is far more to Monument Valley than a distant photo from Forrest Gump highway. It was freezing on the day of our tour so they laid on a closed 4WD van instead of the usual open truck. We had a sprinkle of snow half way round!
