As well many fascinating places in Luzern itself, drive up to Burgenstock or RIgi Seebodenalp. We`ll make our way around the villages on the banks of Lake Luzern so that you can appreciate the beauty in the heartland of Switzerland.

Take a drive to the Burgenstock resort overlooking Lake Luzern. Walk along the famous Cliff walk to the 152m Hammetschwand Lift and experience stunning views of Lake Luzern.

Stop At: Aeschbach Chocolatier, Chocodromo 1 Hochschwerzlen, Root 6037 Switzerland
Drive 10 mins north of Luzern to this amazing local chocolate factory.
Learn about the history of chocolate, see how chocolate is made in factory, make your chocolate bar and feast on delicious samples.

Stop At: Victorinox Factory Store, Schmiedgasse 57, Ibach 6438 Switzerland
Travel around the Lake to the Victorinox store and make your own Victorinox swiss army penknife
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Seebodenalp, Küssnacht, Switzerland
Stay in the van and drive along the lake to Kussnacht and start to climb up to Seebodenalp at 1500m for stunning views of Lake Luzern and Mount Pilatus. On the way down, check out the 10th Century Gesslerborg castle.

Before we even left the U.S., we knew we were in good hands with Chris. By email and on the phone, he quizzed us on what we wanted to see on our tour. He listened, made suggestions and customized our experience to fit our needs. Once in Lucerne he had a plan in hand — one that evolved throughout the day. We traveled in style (a Mercedes SUV) to spectacular Mount Rigi, rode the train up and took the gondola car down. After a quick lunch back in Lucerne it was off through the exciting mountain pass to Giessbach Falls. Along the way were fascination stops and stories by Chris. It was clear he had contacts throughout the area, particularly once we reached the Grand Hotel in Griessbach and the wood carvers in Brienz. The day far exceeded our expectations and we would heartily recommend Chris as your guide throughout Switzerland.Greg H

The weather did not cooperate for all of our original plans, so besides the Glassworks and Chocolate Factories, Chris developed Plan "B" and we headed to Brienz where the sun was out for the waterfalls, beautiful patio lunch at the Grand Hotel Giessbach and boat ferry across Lake Brienzersee, woodcarvers visit and walk thru a small Switzerland Village. Our limited time in Switzerland was made more special by Chris Wilson and Typically Swiss Tours. Our visit, meticulously planned by Chris met, and exceeded our expectations. Planning began about twenty months prior to our actual visit. As with many travelers, our trip was postponed multiple dates and when we finally arrived in Lucerne we were excited and ready to tour. We had multiple zoom calls with Chris along with email and text communications. Chris listened to our ideas and presented us an amazing, memorable day. We started with a short walk to Laderach Chocolate and enjoyed a sampling of specialties. Next was a scenic drive to Brunnen and the Victorinox Swiss Army Factory where we had a fun experience creating our individual, engraved Swiss Army knives. From there we ventured up Mt Rigi on the cog train. Lucerne was overcast and as the train climbed above the clouds, we were met with spectacular sunshine and amazing views from the top. The clouds dissipated and the sun shining when we made our next stop high above Lucerne with tremendous views of the lake surrounded by mountains. Our final stop of the day was an old castle on the lake with gardens and tranquil surroundings. Chris made our day very memorable and prior to dropping us at our hotel, he made dinner reservations for us at a lovely local restaurant. Chris Wilson from Typically Swiss tours was the best tour guide we have ever had. He spent a lot of effort getting to know us before the tour happened. He communicated with me several months before our arrival and welcomed my questions. He was quick to respond. All the attention he gave to us before the trip heightened the excitement to meet him. Even though we were only with him one day, he gave suggestions of what to do the afternoon before as well as made dinner reservations for us. He helped us with transportation suggestions too. A unique thing about Chris is his desire to do something special for his clients and their tour. I asked if he would buy me a Lucerne Starbucks mug since we might not have time . He had the mug waiting for me in my hotel room! As a surprise, he added a personal tour of the factory that makes Starbucks coffee machines to our day. I honestly think we were the only people who have ever toured this amazing factory. It honestly brought tears to my eyes. Before the day he planned with me several options in case weather became an issue. I know other tour companies would not take the time to do this. We were lucky to have clear skies and didn’t need plan B or C. The day after the tour, he checked to see if we made it home safely. I hope it is obvious to you how special Chris is with pre-tour, full day tour, and post-tour attention given. He will go beyond your expectations. 5 stars is not a high enough rating.
