We engaged Jordan Direct Tours to arrange a seven day tour of Amman, Jerash, Ajlun, Um Qais, Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba. We were extremely pleased with the itinerary, the quality of the hotels, and especially the knowledge and courtesy extended by our driver and the respective on-site guides. Each site provided a different perspective into Jordanian history and culture. Oriana was great to work with in developing our itinerary; she incorporated our ideas and offered suggestions on other worthy sites and experiences. Our driver, Alaa Salameh, was outstanding and the common denominator during the week. Alaa met us every morning, introduced us to local guides (eggs.Jerash) as arranged, shared information on what to expect at the next site and on Jordanian history and culture, he selected and introduced us to local guides (eggs. Jerash), and ensured every experience exceeded our expectations. Alaa established a comfortable rapport, with us, we never felt we were getting another canned speech. He is a great representative of the Jordanian culture at large, and of Jordan Direct specifically, and has become a family friend. By the way, Jordan is so much more than Petra, but Petra is so much more than the one iconic image you may be familiar with. We recommend that you spend a full day exploring this vast treasure! This was a last minute trip for me and my husband that we planned while visiting Dubai. This was a last minute trip for me and my husband that we planned while visiting Dubai. We first reached out to Jordan Tours on a Friday, their weekend. Despite our timing we heard back over the weekend. We gave our agent Nairooz, an idea of what we wanted. She put together a proposed itinerary. We made some changes, largely due to the unusually cold (below 0 and snow) weather forecast. She came back with the perfect plan. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were in good hands. They had an agent there to walk us through the Visa and Covid requirements, a process that could have been quite confusing. We were then assigned our driver, Firas Ahmed. I cannot say enough good things about Firas. He made out trip. He recognized our interest in exploring as much as we could and took us on mountain roads with spectacular views. He got us a great guide at Wadi Rum and advised us we drew a great guide at a Petra. BYW, “Jeeps” at Wadi Rum are really small pick up trucks where you sit on built in cushioned seats in the back bed. Firas was officially only a driver, but he as so much more. We were insatiable with our questions, and he patiently answered them all. He chose great places for lunch and crafts. He exposed us to the Queen Noor foundation that provides support to single moms and the handicapped while producing first-rate products. Rugs, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, Dead Sea products, and tiled products are all produced by middle eastern artisans, many of whom are Jordanian. We watched several artisans at work. The prices are not cheap, but the majority of the money goes to the artisans. We were happy to support the foundation. Everyday we set the schedule, starting the day when we wanted, making stops as we requested, and adding stops as we desired. (Got some great up close shots of camels.) We have had private tours in other parts of the world. Firas, and the staff at Jordan Direct Tours made this one very special. One never knows what they are getting when trying to to book a foreign tour. You can trust Jordan Direct Tours to create the tour you want, and reliably execute it.Absolutely outstanding service from the very first email to the final airport transfer, we cannot thank JD Tours enough for making this one of the best trips of our lives. Absolutely outstanding service from the very first email to the final airport transfer, we cannot thank JD Tours enough for making this one of the best trips of our lives. We try, as nuch as we can, to book with local tour operators rather than international ones and the many good reasons for that were exemplified in the wonderful service we received here. Nairooz organised a great itinerary for us, accommodating our choices of hotels as well as recommending wonderful hotels in Aqaba and Dead Sea. She responded quickly to emails and she spoke to us by phone while we were there to check all was going well. At the airport in Amman, Mwad met us just moments after we stepped off the plane, waiting for us punctually and he fast tracked us through immigration, which was a lovely treat late at night! He was so professional and helpful. The company loaned us a local mobile phone to use if needed for the trip, which was a nice touch. Alaa Salameh was our driver for the whole trip and he was delightful and the trip would not have been the same without him. He was always smiling, happy , good sense of humour, always on time. He was professional, polite and was always happy to plan the days exactly to our preferences. He gave great recommendations for dining, shopping etc. He was honest and trustworthy and we were made to feel like family. When we realised that the automobile museum was closed, Alaa quickly arranged an alternative option, which was a visit to one of the main mosques in Amaan which was really interesting. He also taught us a lot about life and culture in Jordan through our chats. I love sweet treats and he took us on a brilliajt stop to try some absolutely delicious Kunafa in Amman. When we asked about having some lunch in Amman before driving to Dead Sea, Alaa said he would arrange this and promised us it would would something very special. I will not say where he took us or what we ate because I don't want to ruin the surprise in case any of you get to go with Alaa too for the same thing but let's just say it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten in our lives and it was an absolutely wonderful surprise lunch! Alaa was a safe and sensible driver, the car was always spotless and there was a constant supply of bottled water for us. The car even has WiFi! On our long driving day, Alaa had cookies and a thermos of tea which he shared with us having brought little disposable cups for us. His daughters had made a special cinnamon and cardamom tea for us in the thermos - honestly, this kind of hospitality and kindness just touched our hearts so much and we are so grateful to Alaa his lovely , generous, thoughtful family for that. We were never under pressure to book any tours that weren't on the itinerary bur when we did want to do so tour (eg at the citadel in Amman and in little petra), Alaa's recommendations for guides were fab. They were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Another lovely touch was the fact that at hotel check in, Alaa came in with us to help make sure all went smoothly, he spoke to hotel staff and worked his magic and as a result, at 2 hotels , we ended up with surprise room upgrades and at the final hotel, we got both early check in and late check out, which meant we could fully enjoy our final day with no stress! The whole trip was magical but our absolute highlights in terms of attractions were Petra and Wadi Rum. Loved the jeep safari and all the walks and views in Petra and Little Petra. Accommodation choices were absolutely excellent. Our favourites were Al Manara, Kempinski and Memories Aicha. Thanks Nairooz for the suggestion. I think our families would love to visit Jordan and I have absolutely no doubts that they would be in great hands if they choose to go with JD tours and with Alaa.My family and some friends and I went to a one-week trip in Jordan, which turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had abroad! My family and some friends and I went to a one-week trip in Jordan, which turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had abroad! We visited, Amman, Jerash, Madaba, Aqaba, Wadi Rum desert, Petra and the Dead Sea...We immersed into the culture and nature of this beautiful country thanks to the greatly organised trip by this agency and our AMAZING TOUR GUIDE - Ibrahim! He is a gem and I would recommend him to anyone not only because he knows so so much about anything Jordan-related, but because he has a good sense of humour, he is fun to be around and has a good heart. Thanks to him 3 people of our group and I went hiking in one amazing place with a river, and this was not included in the program but he suggested because he thought we would enjoy it and we did! It would not be the same experience in Jordan without Ibrahim. To sum-up, I highly recommend going to Jordan with this travel agency, and also I would advise to ask for Ibrahim to be your tour guide!Informative. Good price. Awesome tour! We deliberately booked a local rather than an international agent and we were amply rewarded. On several occasions we were able to re-arrange the itinerary during the holiday thanks to the cooperation of the driver (Ibrahim) and Jordan Direct Tours (JDT). We chose JDT because of the excellent reviews and I am pleased to say that they were justified. The communications before the holiday with JDT were timely and efficient and with the same representative throughout (Suha Kopti). Suha was extremely helpful and made several key suggestions whilst we troubled her with our indecision over what to do and when and where to go. We were met at the airport and the rep got us smoothly through the visa entry. We spent 3 nights in Amman (about right) doing city tours (the amphitheatre is a must), museum visits and the wider day-long tours of desert castles and Jerash ruins. Ibrahim sorted everything for us including paying entry fees and guides. Next we spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn in the Dead Sea (the hotel on Suha's recommendation which was a good choice) and then travelled South via Mt Nebo and Madaba to Dana (one night) for a 14k desert hike the following morning (hard work for me a reasonably fit 72 year old) then on to stay overnight in a pod in the Wadi Rum desert (be prepared for the thousands of others doing the same thing!). Next came the highlight, Petra, for which 2 nights is essential. (Petra Guest House, not a guest house but a four * hotel was fantastic and 100m from the entrance to Petra). The reason for two nights is to provide a whole day within Petra which we did from 7am to 6pm and still didn't see everything. (We walked 29k during this period), From Petra we moved to Aqaba for 5 nights the reason being that we wanted a minimum of two days diving in the red sea. You could easily reduce your stay to 2 or three nights although Aqaba is a lovely city to relax and finish off the tour. We drove back to Amman (approx. 4 hrs) for an overnight stay before leaving but broke the journey by tackling the Wadi Murghi on the way back. This is one example of JDT's flexibility mentioned above. We had booked to do it from Amman but the Wadi was close on the day we were supposed to do it. Be prepared for an exhausting fight against the water flowing through the Wadi but do it for the great experience it is. I cannot recommend JDT highly enough. From start to finish everything ran smoothly and to time. Ibrahim was always on time, was very amusing and very knowledgeable. He did us the great honour of inviting us to meet his family and take lunch with them in their home in Amman. A brilliant and talented man who will remain a friend forever. Jordan is a fantastic country and entirely safe despite having neighbours intent on killing each other. No-one could possibly regret visiting this wonderful country or experiencing the magic of Petra. Barry Phillips
