What to expect
Visiting the market in Ecuador is a one-of-a-kind experience!
You´ll discover the best smells, tastes, and colors of fruits, vegetables, and spices that will help you create the perfect Ecuadorian meal. Andres will meet you at the main entrance of the Quito Central Market and will take you on a tour of the market and the surrounding area. Here you will meet the best specialty vendors, the stand that has the freshest vegetables, a cheese depot, yesteryear meat vendors, the lady who always has the best fruits, and an exotic fruit juice stand. The experience starts off by shopping for fresh ingredients and local products, some of which you will not be able to find anywhere else in the world.
Cooking Class
Back at the restaurant, the Chef will teach you Ecuadorian cooking techniques and tricks. You will make everything from scratch, chopping, dicing, and cooking like a true local.
Time to Eat
Once finished in the kitchen, the chef sets a beautiful table and all the hard work pays off. It´s time to enjoy your meal in a Colonial house in the heart of Old Town Quito.
Highly recommended experience!

The teachers were very helpful and used easily accessible ingredients so we can and definitely will recreate these dishes at home. Couldn’t recommend this class more!

Very nice time. Andres communicated plans the day before and was on time for pick up. He took us to a market and showed us the wealth of great, fresh ingredients on the market. Cooking lesson was fun -stuff we never would have made on our own but plan on doing so in the future. Karen was our cooking coach. Very pleasant and kept us both involved. We made Ecuadorian dishes…potato soup, sea bass or cod (doesn’t matter which as it was good), and steamed cakes wrapped in banana-like leaves. Lots of funThe best experience anyone interested in food or culture can get. A great tour of the market that comes included with some taste testing of product regional to Ecuador. It was easy to book this activity with Andres, and communicating details with him was quick and trouble-free. He picked us up at a hotel that was close to our Airbnb, and from there drove us to the market. We sampled various fresh food items there and picked up a couple things for the cooking class. The class is hosted in a great little indoor/outdoor cooking area in the Quito historic center. Our instructors Karen and Allison were fun to work with and did a great job of teaching us how to assemble a three-course lunch (soup, main, dessert) using Ecuadorian ingredients and techniques. I would gladly recommend this activity to anybody, even if you're not-so-great in the kitchen like myself. One of the highlights of our time in Quito! One of the highlights of our time in Quito! Owner Andres picked us up on time from our hotel and took us to the local markets, where he took us through many of the ingredients local to the area and found in traditional cuisine. He then took us to his beautiful cooking school in the old town, where chef Edwin provided instructions on how to make 3 traditional dishes. We made a potato and avocado soup, tamales and finishes with some fresh local fruit and chocolate. The class was fun, interactive and informative. A must try activity for anyone visiting the city!
