It was an unforgettable trip in Asia. I am really appreciate to Mr John who was my driver during my trip. He was friendly, helpful and he arranged all the best places for us to see. He was not only driver but he was also known a lot about history of Cambodia especially about temples. It was three days tour but it was too short. I'll be back soon to this amazing city and be with him for my second trip. Excellent driver John:)We just came back from a 15 days tour of Cambodia with John. John was great from start to finish. We just came back from a 15 days tour of Cambodia with John. John was great from start to finish. He has been of great help before the trip helping us organise everything and then was great once in Cambodia helping with pretty much everything along the way (buy food at the market, visit landmarks, go to restaurants etc). We had a fantastic time in Cambodia and he is one of the many reasons we loved our trip so much. On top of all this, John is great with kids and our son loved spending time with him. Overall - everything was perfectWe had an enjoyable trip engaged Siem Reap Private Tour for 6 days. The tour guide Thou was a energetic guide and his was a great photographer for our group. It was my family's privilege and honor to have had Mr John Sochheat be our driver and unofficial guide over three days in Siem Reap. We didn't feel like joining an organized tour - with two teenagers, I have found that it usually made more sense to for us to start the day a little later than most tours. Knowing that the average American teenager's limited capacity to soak in history, culture, and architecture, my wife and I also decided wrap up each day earlier than the average tour. All that worked out well for us on all three days, where we were gone for no more than 6 hrs each day: Day one we went to the Angkor Wat compound, Day Two we went to Tonle Sap freshwater lake, and Day Three we went to a collection of cultural heritage locations featuring an artisinal, end-to-end silk factory; a Cambodian cosmetics and personal care store, and a reservoir where only locals visit. John was very accommodating, and worked with us before our arrival to customize an itinerary for us. He was always polite and responsive over email, and that level of professionalism carried over from the moment he met us at the airport (we decided to hire him to pick us up as he was far more reasonable than the hotel pickup service) to the very last day, where he drove us to a lovely restaurant for dinner. John is a stand-up gentleman who is genuine and warm, and has a deep knowledge about his city and his country. He can regale you with the history of Siem Reap and the epic battle fought between Siam and Khmer Empire, the history and significance of each of the Angkor landmarks, the importance of the Tonle Sap, and the tragic recent history of the killing fields propagated by the likes of Pol Pot and his cronies. He has a functional command of English and has a great sense of humor. All these make him an excellent driver and guide. I usually try to leave a balanced review by calling out something that could be improved upon, and so I shall do the same here. This is not intended to be a criticism, but a suggestion: John might be able to exceed expectations even more by helping his guests manage their own. For instance, during the day out to Tonle Sap, we would have benefited by being briefed the number of stops we could expect from the chartered boat ride. It turned out to be two, but if we had known, we might have asked to stop at the stilt village at Kompong Phluk, just for the experience of checking out this super interesting settlement. That said, we are grateful to John for making our three days with him such a pleasure - our teenagers thought he was a swell guy to hang out with, and that's no mean feat!We booked a 2 day private tour with John in October. We booked a 2 day private tour with John in October. We just went for the driver only option but you can also book a guide to go with the tour. For us John provided enough information to keep us interested. The main benefits of booking this tour are that you don’t have to think about getting from A to B, where to buy tickets etc. plus Siem Reap is very hot so being able to get some respite in an air conditioned car is very welcome! There other options to use a tuk-tuk driver for the day but you know what you’re getting with John and you can guarantee you’ll be well looked after.A truly enjoyable trip with great friends and excellent service provided by the operator/driver/tour guide John and Bun. On time pick up, fulfilling requests and flexible arrangements. Highly recommended!
