Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Stop At: Mendenhall Glacier, Mendenhall Valley, Juneau, AK

Guests will spend 60 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

The entire Mendenhall Glacier ICE Adventure Tour operates in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

  • Minimum age 12 years old
  • Minimum weight: 90lbs
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Maximum wight: 240lbs
  • Not recommended for guests with back or hip problems
  • Full use of limbs for up to 2 hours canoe paddling and 1.5 hours of trekking
  • Ability to hike over steep uneven terrain for approximately 1-2 miles
  • Signed liability waiver
  • This tour DOES NOT provide access to walk on glacier ice
  • Not recommended for travelers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Travelers should have a strong physical fitness level
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
