Really nice tour... They picked me up from my hotel in Delhi and took me to the train station. Then they made sure that I get into the train and was comfortable. Then the tour guide picked me up in Agra train station. And we drove to Taj Mahal. The tour guide "Moon" was a very polite, nice and experienced guide. He made sure that I see all the sights in Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Explained history and reasons behind the details in the structures Overall a very pleasant experience.

My family (husband and 2 kids) and I booked this excursion for Christmas Day 2023. What a special and most memorable Christmas it was thanks to Hyder Ali (our tour guide) and Akash (our driver)! Ali was such an amazing guide and made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our day. The whole visit was beautifully planned and organized for us, from morning pickup until our evening dropoff. Even on a very crowded day like Christmas, we were able to maneuver very smoothly through the lines and around the Taj Mahal property, with 2 small kids in tow. Ali knew exactly how to move us through and save us time. We made a few stops in Agra after our Taj Mahal visit, including marble arts, pashmina shop and delicious lunch which came with the package we chose. We felt we were in great hands for our whole visit in Agra. Akash, our driver, who picked us up from our hotel, walked us to the train station, made sure we were in our seats on the train, and communicated with Ali the whole time, was also wonderful. We could not have had a more organized and fun day! Thanks Hyder Ali, Akash and team!

Truly a first class experience 10/10. From the time of booking Faizan made sure I felt welcomed and sent me all the details exactly for my trip including instructions. It was a seamless experience from the hotel pickup and guidance to my seat on the train, to my amazing guide Ali who greeted me in Agra in front of my train. Ali has a charm and beautifully explains his deep knowledge on the wonders to see in Agra. He is truly a gentlemen and made me feel so comfortable and informed. His English is excellent and he has an eloquent way of explaining things to make sure you understand all there is to know. Highly recommend and will be sending my friends and family as well.

I had a great day trip from Delhi to Agra, to visit the Taj Mahal - very much recommend! Pick up from hotel was prompt and easy; the driver took me onto train and showed me the seat I had been assigned - I had been a bit nervous of that, particularly as a solo traveler, but it was absolutely fine. The train was spacious, plenty of leg room, and lots of food/drink provided which I hadn’t expected! The train was slightly delayed but as it was so comfortable, wasn’t a problem. Arrival in Agra was also smooth and easy; mg guide for the day, Faizan (Faz) was there waiting for me, and spotted me immediately (before leaving me on the train in Delhi, the driver took a photo so Faz knew who to look for!). Faz was friendly, helpful and very patient with me - I was a bit overwhelmed with all there was to see, and he very quickly adapted to my own pace! Faz took me to a car, driven by Salman, which was ours for the day. That meant at Taj Mahal etc I could leave my back pack in car safely, just taking what I needed for the moment with me (strict rules of what can take into Taj Mahal - no chewing gum allowed in bag!). During the day trip, I was very impressed with all the sights we got to see - starting with Taj Mahal, then Agra Fort, and the ‘baby Taj’. The drives between these were smooth and easy. The visits to the actual places were made even better by Faz’s extensive knowledge he could share about the history and stories of each place - I learnt a lot and had so much fun! Really appreciated it. Would definitely recommend this day trip, and in particular would recommend Faz as a guide - it was brilliant! Thank you to Faz and Salman for making the day so great.

We had an enjoyable time exploring Agra and the Taj Mahal. Transport to and from Agra on the train was excellent. The tour guide picks you up at the Agra train station. We were offered to go to a costume store to wear traditional outfits for an additional price. We opted to do this and was a good experience. Our guide was helpful and informative, answering all questions we had. The tour guide wanted to custom tailor the rest of our day in Agra. However, we were visiting on a work trip and didn't really know what else was in Agra and just wanted to defer to his knowledge of the area to inform what's best for our tour. We felt pressure to give a review in front of the tour guide prior to our departure.

My tour guide was Faizan. He was absolutely AMAZING! He was uber professional, very knowledgeable on the history of India, and very attentive. He explained everything, so I knew exactly what to expect at every point, and checked with me if I was OK with everything. I appreciated that he took nothing for granted. He also asked me if there was anything I wanted to do or see and took me to a leather shop because I asked him to. We also spoke about other things (culture for instance), so we were comfortable with each other. I highly recommend him.

We booked and paid for the Taj Mahal day tour from Delhi by super fast train online. We were contacted the night before the tour saying that the train was fully booked (after taking our full payment) and offered a full refund or the same trip for the same price but travelling in a SUV (medium size) with the same itinerary. We accepted the change. Whilst our tour guide Nabeel and driver Pankaj were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable we not get the same package as advertised. We did not visit Mehtab Bagh, we did not get an unlimited buffet lunch, we did not get the morning or evening meals. However, we did have a very enjoyable day with Nabeel and Pankaj, who we would recommend as an excellent tour guide and driver respectively.

A very smooth day of sightseeing indeed! We opted for the train ride version of this day trip tour to Agra from New Delhi. Below you will find a short version of how our tour went and a longer version for those of you who want to get as many facts and details ahead of time before investing in this experience. Here is the short version: Pick up and drop off with Habib went well from our Airbnb to and from the train station. The train left right on time from Delhi and was 1 min late leaving from Agra. Our well spoken and friendly tour guide (Moon) and our excellent and incredibly kind driver were professional, attentive and very polite. We had time for three sights in Agra (Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Itmad-ud-Daula) lunch and a shopping stop (which was actually a nice experience). I would recommend this tour for those who don’t have the time to stay overnight in Agra but still want to see the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. We were taken care of and treated well the whole day, I highly recommend this tour! Now for the long version; let’s dig in… PRE TOUR: I booked this tour Wednesday February 7th for a daylong tour of Agra on Sunday February 11th. Within a few hours of confirming the tour, Faizen, the local tour manager, reached out to me via text to confirm my booking and to offer a point of contact should I have any questions. I asked about getting a digital confirmation of the train tickets as well as confirming we were booked for First Class, which he provided to me latter that evening. The day before our trip was scheduled I received an email with our driver’s name and car license plate info, as well as his contact phone number is case we should need it. PICK UP: Our driver, Habib, showed up three minutes early and found us waiting in front of our Airbnb right away. You can either choose a 6am pick up or a 7 am pick up. Since we were close to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station we opted for a 7 am pick up as the train was scheduled to leave at 8:10am. The car was nice and had seat belts that worked (a rarity in most Uber cars in India). Habib also did not roll the windows down thankfully so we didn’t have to breathe in smog. Our driver then took a wrong turn down a very sketchy road and I thought my life would soon be over. Then he turned around and got back on the right track towards the train station, slightly frustrated with himself with the mistake. ON THE TRAIN: There was no traffic so we got to the train station early at 7:17am for an 8:10am train. Habib expertly got us to the right platform and explained the next steps and what to expect. Habib took us to our seats, snapped a quick photo of me and my husband to send to the person picking us up in Agra, and we were settled and ready to go by 7:35am. There are seats with a large window and seats with a partial small view. We got the second one. But since I booked the tour less than a week before the tour day I was just happy to get a seat because when I went online to get the train tickets myself they were sold out. Habib gave us the paper copy of our train tickets which were helpful to present to the guy checking tickets on the train. The tour company also sent us the tickets electronically. The train left at 8:10am on the dot. A bottle of water and Breakfast came within the first 30 min of departure and consisted of two thin pieces of white bread with butter and jam. Orange juice, oat biscuit digestibles, and a piece of chocolate cake. Real silverware is provided along with hand sanitizer and mouth freshener as well. The view from the train (once you get past the trash and hovels of Deli) looks remarkably similar to the Kansas countryside for those who are wondering. Flat smoggy/foggy land as far as the eye can see, dotted with trees separated by farm paddocks surrounded by little yellow wild flowers and tall grasses. You can tell you are coming up to a city or town by the amount of trash accumulated by the tracks. 20 minutes after breakfast number 1, we were offered tea, bananas and corn chips. An hour into the trip we were served a hot breakfast ( third breakfast at this point) with either a veg (chicken cutlet) or non veg (spinach omelette with vegetables) option, as well as a yogurt. The attendants were very attentive and polite. The train slows down for the few towns that are passed, but the train we were on is a direct fast train that does not stop. We were on the 12050/GATIMAAN EXP Executive class, which is like First Class. We arrived in Agra at 9:50am. Side note: The trains in India can be really uncomfortable (overcrowded and dirty) in the lower classes, so it’s worth the extra $20 USD to opt for First Class. AGRA ARRIVAL: Once we arrived, our tour guide Moon found us on the very busy platform right when we exited the train. We were then guided to our car where we were each presented with a flower necklace, and introduced to the driver. I can’t remember his name but he was absolutely wonderful! This sweet gesture was not only welcoming but also very welcomed by me to have the opportunity to smell flowers instead of the odorous train station. We then headed off to the Taj Mahal. On the way, Moon told us a little about himself and asked about us. He also gave an overview of how the day would go. Moon told us that because of no parking near the Taj Mahal we were going to park out a ways and take a Tuk Tuk (that Moon paid for) the rest of the way in. I was slightly worried because the Taj Mahal security won’t let you take in phone chargers, pens, or anything to eat/drink (besides water) into the location so I had a backpack I was going to leave in the car while visiting. Moon assured me that the backpack will be safe with the driver and that I could keep it in the trunk for security. After the short Tuk Tuk drive we were at the Taj Mahal entry gate by 10:45am. The fog had burned off and the smog was not that bad the day we went so we had blue skies. THE TAJ MAHAL: Before going through security Moon stopped and gave us some facts and history of the Taj and bought us us two bottles of water and secured shoe coverings for us to use when we enter into the Taj Mahal itself. Entry and security was a breeze, as Moon had purchased the tickets ahead of time and we entered in through the less busy West gate perfectly planned by Moon. My bag was quickly searched but nothing was taken away because Moon reminded us to leave any prohibited items in the car. I am not going to give you a play by play of the actual tour of the beautiful Taj Mahal, incase you decide to take the tour I don’t want to give spoilers to you. Just know that Moon was very knowledgeable about the Taj Mahal and genuinely seemed happy to give the tour and proud of the Taj Mahal, even though he told me he has done it over a thousand times before. After spending some time walking the garden and path up to the Taj Mahal and going through the interior, Moon gave us ample time to view the entire sight at our pace and take as many pictures as we wanted while he patiently waited near the entrance for us to finish. We were at the Taj Mahal just about 2 hours. Be prepared that the Taj Mahal is a very popular and busy sight, but the area around the Taj Mahal is vast so you can easily find quieter places to take it all in. Other people will be all around you, in your pictures, trying to take their own pictures etc. No one was rude and it’s helpful to remember we are all there for the same thing: to witness the beauty of the Taj Mahal. LUNCH: Next stop was lunch. We were presented with the option of a buffet at The Double Tree hotel or a more traditional restaurant featuring Agra inspired cuisine. We chose the buffet but when we arrived at The Double Tree they were not serving the buffet that day. I think Moon was a little frustrated at this and seemed unaware that they were not serving the buffet that day. He apologized, but it was not a big deal to me and the restaurant just said to order something off the menu which we were fine with. Again. Moon took care of paying for the meal and I pain for my wine. The food was fine, I’ve had better but I’ve also had way worse and this is not a review on the Double Tree restaurant so I will move on. Faizen, the local travel manager that emailed me prior to the tour, stoped by our table and checked in to make sure everything was going ok with our tour and offered to help us with anything we needed. I felt this to be a really nice gesture and personal touch. SHOPPING: After lunch and returning to the car, Moon asked us if we would like to visit a stone shop where they made inlayed semi precious stones/marble items that had the same motifs as the Taj Mahal and were crafted by artisans that are descended from the men who worked on the Taj Mahal. Moon also said if I didn’t want to that was ok and we could just go on to the next sight. I had read the reviews prior to booking this tour so I knew that this was the shopping stop. I did not have a problem with this because Moon gave us a choice not to do this, and because shopping stops are very standard in India as a way for the tour guide/ drivers to make a few extra rupees off of the items tourists purchase from the shops stopped at. I feel this is a way to support the local economy and give our tour guide and driver a little extra cash in appreciation. We were not pressured by Moon in any way to stop at the shop. Once at the shop it was educational and interesting to see how the inlay of the semi precious stones into the Indian marble was meticulously done. We were shown a demonstration and offered hot and cold drinks while we viewed the beautiful items they had for sale. The sales man we were working with did put on strong sales pressure after the demonstration and after some friendly bartering I did end up buying a really lovely candle holder that was reminiscent of the beauty that is the Taj Mahal. I have some experience in sales myself, and I was impressed with the skill the salesman had. I don’t feel as if I’ve been had or got taken advantage of because I said yes to the shopping experience. If you are uncomfortable with sales pressure and bartering, just skip this and move onto the next sight. THE AGRA FORT: After the stone shop we headed to the Agra Fort. Entry and security was as easy as it was getting into the Taj Mahal as Moon again purchased the tickets ahead of time. I really enjoyed walking around the Agra Fort. Again, Moon had interesting information for us as we toured around and I was delighted at its beauty. We all go to Agra for the Taj Mahal, but the Agra Fort is stunning in its own right. Moon gave us as much time as we wanted before moving on to the next sight. We were there for about 45 min. ITMAD -UD -DULA: After the Agra Fort Moon gave us another option to stop at a cafe or move on the the next sight. We were good to move on, so we stopped at Itmad-ud-Daula. It is a mausoleum nick named the “Baby Taj” that was lovingly made by Emperor Jahangir's queen, Nur Jahan in memory of her mother and father. The sight is much less crowed than the Taj Mahal or the Agra Fort and is such a beautiful structure and complex. It is also much smaller so we only spent about 30 min there. Moon had a few interesting tid-bits to tell us about this sight but much less than the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. Again, he gave us time to explore and take pictures on our own. At this point I think we were all a little tired but again Moon offered to go shopping for scarves or visit a cafe. This time I chose the cafe as we only had about 20 min before we had to head to the train station for our return trip to Delhi. This was considered an extra cost for our drinks and was not covered by Moon, which was explained in the confirmation itinerary. TRAIN BACK TO DELHI: We arrived at the platform about 10 min before the train arrived. This time the train was the 12049/GATIMAAN EXP. We left at 5:41 pm and arrived in Delhi at 7:30pm. We were only served once and was a combination of prepackaged digestive biscuits, juice box, something called a Barfi Cake, cashews, another piece of chocolate cake and water/tea. I was still full from lunch so I just put them in my bag for future enjoyment. Take note that the Executive train car is clean and straightforward. There is a plug every other seat set and the seats are sets of two seats with the ability to recline and a tray table on each chair. There is a ton of overhead storage for suitcases/bags. There is no WiFi that I could find and no way to order additional food or drinks. Since this train ride was only 1 hour 50 min, we did not need any additional services as it was so quick. DROP OFF: Habib met us at the train station as soon as we got off the train and guided us back to the car. I was a little confused at first because he had changed his clothes and another couple were also following him and being guided by him to another driver. I thought maybe I misrecognized him and he was, in fact, not the right guy. However, without missing a beat, Habib got us to the car and we were dropped off at our Airbnb with no issues. All in all a great day! NOTES: 1.) Moon did a great job at keeping local beggars and people selling cheap trinkets at bay while we worked our way through Agra. If you have ever been to India, then you know how wearing this can be. It was nice to have Moon there keeping them in check. 2.) In the Taj Mahal we were offered to have local photographers take our picture for 100 rupees a photo, I declined politely but when the photographer continued to badger me, Moon was at the ready to quickly stop him and send him away. 3.) Spending the $180 USD per person was worth every penny! Train tickets, sight tickets, bottled water throughout the day, lunch, tour guiding and all the car rides were worth it for all that alone but a bonus was how quickly and easily Moon guided through all the entrances and security checks, almost “skip the line” status! We really felt like we were saving so much time because as a first time traveler to an area or sight you don’t know where to go or what to do and Moon/ Viator made it so easy. We truly felt like we were in good hands the whole day. FINALLY: Yes, Moon did ask for a review, but he did not pressure me to write this at all. I wanted to give other tourists an idea of what this tour was like as I really wanted this information for my first time using Viator to book an all day tour. India can be tricky for foreigners, if you have never visited before so the more information ahead of time the better! Thanks for reading, happy travel!

My wife and I had an amazing day tour of Agra with Hyder Ali as our guide and Salman as our driver. Hyder was very knowledgeable and gave us detailed explanations at the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the Baby Taj. Both Hyder and Salman were attentive to our needs the whole day and willing to tailor every part of the tour for us. The hotel transfers in Delhi with Arun were also very well handled and he made sure we got on the train and found our seats. Would very highly recommend this tour.

Nabeel is a master storyteller! For the rest of my life, I’ll remember sitting in the shade gazing at the Taj Mahal with a gentle breeze blowing and listening to Nabeel explain why the Taj Mahal was built in Agra, why white marble and why for the king’s third wife. He also went above and beyond, carrying my lehenga after we were done with photos. Bobby was our driver from Delhi to Agra and for the day and he kept us safe and on time and played fun music for us. This tour was so well organized! My husband wanted to experience the train but it was sold out for VIPs so we had a car to take us to Agra instead. We did return by train and Nabeel waited with us for the train and helped us find our seats and then took a photo for the driver meeting us in Delhi to meet us as we exited the train. Not only did we get to skip the lines and tour the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort but we also got to shop for some lovely family based artisan made pashminas and art/jewelry, with no pressure to purchase (although we gladly did). Lunch was delicious and and a welcome break in the middle of the day. I highly recommend this tour and will book again when we come back to India. Thank you Nabeel and Bobby!

The day was amazing. Thunderstorms in Delhi but sunshine in Agra. Our drivers and guides were right on time and were there at every connection. Nabeel was our tour guide and he made the experience meaningful. He knows the Taj and its history and answered all our question. Definitely worth it and a great tour team from start to finish
