Hungarian Cooking Class by a Professional Chef (4-course, drinks)
Overview
I am a professional chef and would be happy if I share everything with you about Hungarian cuisine.
I love cooking and eating great food. It is fantastic when my kitchen is full of life: somebody is chopping onions, someone else is preparing the meat or is kneading dough and we are talking, laughing and the smell of the food fills the whole place.
While you are in Budapest, come, cook together and enjoy this unique atmosphere in the centre.
This 100‹% hands-on cooking class gives you a memorable experience.

Sample Menu
• Goulash soup (with beef meat) - I don't think I need to introduce this dish because everyone knows it. A soup with beef meat and different root vegetables... Sound good, doesn't it?
• Savoury meat pancake Hortobagy style (with chicken) - I can recommend this dish because it is tasty, light and trendy. Tradition and new way on one plate.
• Gerbeaud layered cake - This is an iconic dessert is Hungary. It is a layered cake with ground walnuts, apricot jam and dark chocolate. Yummy!

We had a great experience cooking with Marti. She was very responsive in our communications before the cooking class. Her kitchen set up is perfect for this hands-on, interactive, evening. She was delightful and well organized. She provided instruction and, at the same time, patiently answered all of our questions about cooking, history, life in Budapest, and her family. The 3-course meal that we prepared was delicious and we hope to duplicate it at home using her recipes. So I had trouble finding a cooking class that didn’t require another person, I was travelling alone and wanted to go to a cooking class. So I had trouble finding a cooking class that didn’t require another person, I was travelling alone and wanted to go to a cooking class. Luckily Marti offered one. It so happened I joined alongside 3 others who knew each other. I was made to feel very comfortable. The apartment the kitchen is beautiful and spacious. Marti is a wonderful teacher and host. She made sure everyone got involved and she provided plenty of snacks and drinks. I was lucky to learn sour cherry soup, paprika chicken and dumplings and gundel pancake for desert. I can’t wait to cook these at home because wow they were delish! I learnt so much. I wish I could go to her classes all the time! We cooked the meals together and sat down together to eat. It would have been nice if Marti also ate but she had eaten earlier. I think we all throughly enjoyed the experience and I feel it was reasonable. Next time I go back to Hungary I am doing another class! Thanks Marti.Great experience! We made a three course Hungarian meal which was amazing and it was accompanied by wine as well. Our host was lovely and we very much enjoyed this experience and recommend it to anyone traveling to Budapest.
