Amazing diving in Iceland. We got our dry-suite certification and dove Silfra the next day. Andreas and Pau were outstanding instructors - very patient and super fun to learn with. Silfra is a once in a lifetime diving experience that shouldn’t be missed especially if you are at all interested in trying dry-suite diving!
I'd always wanted to visit Iceland, but when I saw the Silfra dive in a "best places to dive" video, I decided that was what I was doing for my 30th birthday, for sure! And I was not disappointed. We were picked up right from our hotel to the dive site where we had ~full service~ getting fit into gear and making sure everything was working right. Our guide, Charly, was not only knowledgeable of the site and diving, but entertaining, helping you not focus on the pledge you are about to take in 2°c water. In the end, the temperature was surprisingly not as bad as I anticipated and WELL WORTH the clarity of the dive, the colors, and the sites (and subsequently the photos you get from it!) All I wanted for my birthday was a picture of touching two tectonic plates, and I got it! Will probably come back with a few friends who couldn't make it this year in the future!
Dive.is were extremely professional and helpful, in pafticular Sebastian the Argentinian guide who was amazing! The equipment and prep were excellent i did not even feel a chil in 2 degree water! The dive itself wad likr coasting over a narrow gorge, the clear water and lack of much vegrtation or algae made it feel like a bird's eye flight over a canyon. I was slighly dissapointed with this view as it did look exactly like any non underwater gorge you've seen. I guess that's what you get for swimming in the world's clearest water... But none of this to deminish anything from Dive.is' perfect organization and guiding
Our snorkel guide Charly made this chilly adventure one to remember! He was lively and engaging during the entirety of the tour. It was a rainy/windy day but even then I still had a blast! The clarity and blue tint of the water is spectacular. It's exceptionally cold water but the dry suit keeps you nice and warm. Your hands get a slightly cold if you decide to swim around a bit more but this really isn't necessary as the gentle current slowly brings you along. The one thing that gets cold from the jump is your lips but they go sorta numb after a few minutes and you don't really notice it at all the rest of the way. Overall insanely cool thing to try and I would absolutely recommend. Once again shout out our snorkel guide Charly for his upbeat attitude and creating a really fun diving experience!
Amazing experience!!! Giancarlo was an exceptional guide!!! I had never snorkeled before, so he made such an effort to help me breathe and swim properly. The underwater sights were fascinating and beautiful. Highlight of our trip!
Guided tour snorkeling between tectonic plates. Great experience and our guide Charly was incredible!! Extremely windy on our day made for difficult conditions, something you might want to consider when going.
The tour with David was great, helpful and such a fun time ;) not as cold as expected ! So clear water !
Organised a pick up and return from Reykjavik, which was a great service (50 mins). The whole process is really well organised. The kit provided is good and we didn’t have any problems. The dive itself although 30-40 mins goes in a flash and you are soon sadly exiting the water. We got a guide (David from Spain) who was excellent and gave everyone in the group (6) confidence. The water is clear and the visibility excellent. Its not as cold as you are led to believe. There is lots to do in Iceland, but if you only do one thing do this snorkel.
I was absolutely blown away by this experience, especially because it was unlike anything I had ever seen before! Even though I had no experience in cold water snorkeling, our guide Adam was incredible helpful in making my group feel comfortable and ready for the experience. I would recommend dressing warmly, as even in summer you will appreciate the many layers under your dry suit. This was one of my most unique experiences in Iceland and I highly recommend making time for an afternoon to do this.
Andreas was an amazing guide. The experience was fantastic and we felt very safe throughout. There were three of us and one of our dry suits leaked slightly around the wrist. We would recommend taking a spare change of clothes just in case but this in no way spoiled the experience
The four of us teamed up with Andreas our guide. He was extremely informative and payed attention to all safety issues. Gave us a lot of information about the area which we found interesting. Helped us get dressed and got into the water. Amazing snorkelling. Andreas was very mindful with a lot of charm and can be highly recommended. Peder with family
BEST PART OF THE WHOLE WEEK. Not only was it an insanely beautiful experience, but our tour guide, Romero made it an even better experience. He helped us feel comfortable and was so fun! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Snorkelling in Silfra between the tectonic plates was my favourite experience whilst in Iceland. The staff were brilliant from start to finish especially Rami and AJ your guides, they couldn’t do enough to make the trip the experience it was. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to do this activity whilst visiting Reykjavik and high recommend using Dive.is.
Alex was our guide and he did an amazing job at making us feel comfortable in the suits and in the water. It was an amazing snorkeling experience and I would definitely recommend it.
Great experience. Paul was our guide and he was excellent! Definitely worth it. If you come to Iceland do it
It was a good snorkel experience. I’m a little hesitant about water and Natalia made me confident it would be fine. Lots of great info before we got in the water and she was super sweet trying to keep us pumped waiting to go in the water. My only drawback for the whole thing is waiting 45min from once we were geared up to actually stepping in the water. This is due to the others doing the same thing. Not a reflection on the company just something to be ready for when you go. We purchased pictures and they were amazing, worth every penny.
The pick up was super easy, and the experience was extremely memorable! Our guide Giancarlo was very attentive and very funny/friendly. Would definitely recommend.
It was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. Shoutout to our guide Charley, he made sure we had a really awesome adventure! I highly recommend having him has your guide. Pickup worked out great from Reykjavik and our driver was really informative and kind. One suggestion that I think would make the experience much more comfortable and pleasant is if it were possible that as the customers who paid extra and are getting pickup, if there were a way for them to sign the release forums (again) as they get into the pickup vehicle. We had to wait a good 20 minutes in line out in the cold and brutal wind just to be able to sign the forms and get our gear. This way the driver can make sure the customer signs the forums correctly and help solve the pain point of customers having to wait in possible unpleasant weather. Over all we had a really great experience with Dive.is!
Lorenzo from Dive.IS was a great tour guide. He made everyone feel comfortable and at ease whilst snorkeling in 2 degrees water. A small group of 6 snorkeled for 40 mins. This is enough time to see the tectonic plates and safety was their number one priority. Do not hesitate to do this activity as it is a once in a lifetime experience.
Excellent experience. It was nice trying a drysuit for the first time and snorkeling between the conginental plaques. Thank you Alex for your help!
