What to expect
Itinerary
We will pick you up in Reykjavík and drive you to Thingvellir National Park. During the one-hour drive, your guide will provide you with information about the unique geology and cultural history of Iceland and Silfra as well as the surrounding area of the UNESCO world heritage site.
Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour.
You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon.
After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide and take a look at the pics taken during the tour.

Additional information
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please contact local operator in order to request the form via email.
- Not wheelchair accessible
- All participant's height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
- Participants must be at least 12 years of age
- Dry suits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
- Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
- Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
- Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Not suitable for pregnant women
- IMPORTANT: All participants over 60 years of age must have their doctor sign the approval form
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Most travelers can participate
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking

Wow, just wow! What an amazing experience, the snorkeling was everything I'd hoped. Gorgeous clear waters, a beautiful and almost out of body experience for the time I was in the water - just drifting through the calm and stillness. The being picked up and dropped back to our hotel was smooth and easy. Getting kitted out was fine, never going to be the most glamorous experience especially with the elements- the facilities are basic - that worked for me but worth knowing. Marco our guide was fab, a great balance of reassuring and fun. And the hot chocolate afterwards was so welcome!KeerthiLade

This was one of our favorite activities while we were in Iceland. Jake was our guide and camera man, he made sure all was safe, dry and fun. The snorkeling was beautiful and interesting - an adventure we will always remember.

Everything was organized perfectly from the picked up and drove to silfra. Our guide today were alex and jake. They were amazing, explaining each and everything and always checked whether im okay or need anything. They helped me to put on my dry suit (which was tough) and on the water we went on ...
