Overview
With over a thousand juniper bushes, complemented by 500 herbs and floral varieties such as scented lemon verbena, geraniums, irises and roses, the gin garden is the ultimate tribute to nature’s magic. Curated by our founder, renowned Scottish herbologist Hamish Martin, it encapsulates his boundless passion and knowledge.

Stop At: Secret Herb Garden, 32A Old Pentland Road Damhead, Edinburgh EH10 7EA Scotland
Follow the signs to The Old Curiosity's Gin Lounge and we will start there, look though the window and view our stills, learn about the processes we go through to create our gins. Follow us out to the garden, where we grow, pick and dry all of our botanicals for the gins. Come back to the Gin Lounge for a tasting of all of our gins.

We booked a gin tasting at the secret garden distillery. Rebecca was our tour guide, Rebecca was knowledgeable about the beginnings of the business right through to plans for the future. Rebecca talked us through each of the 6 gin samples we had. This is not just another gin tasting. We learned about the values of the company and staff, their eco credentials and saw the sustainable herbs and florals growing in the garden. This is a beautiful place with a cafe (we didn’t eat there as we hadn’t booked) their menu, cakes and scones displayed looked like they wouldn’t last on your plate for long. We bought some lovely Gin’s to take home. Lovely day, thanks Rebecca.
