Gus is both an amazing tour guide and a great guy. When I arrived in Rio, Gus picked a group of us up who had our luggage lost -- he coordinated several trips to the airport, helped with communication (his english is perfect), and even took us to the mall and helped us purchase clothes to hold us over. A few days later, we took a full tour of Rio with Gus, and wow! What a great 4 hours. We saw a ton of sites and Gus told us historical facts and interesting information on the city the whole time. Overall, Gus himself was a huge highlight of Rio. I couldn't recommend him more!I highly recommend that you have Gus show you around Rio. He's very knowledgeable, communicates quick, and speaks very good English. I highly recommend that you have Gus show you around Rio. He's very knowledgeable, communicates quick, and speaks very good English. We did a private tour with him to Sugar Loaf, Cristo Redentor, Columbe coffee cafe, Escadaria Selaron, the aquarium, and few other spots. He can direct you to any restaurant depending on what you're in the mood for. Gus was great to make reservations for us. He is also very hands-on with kids. We have 2 little boys and they enjoyed site-seeing with "Uncle Gus" around town.I'm not sure how our trip would have been without Gus he is fluent and perfect in both English and Portuguese. Almost no one here spoke English so he communicated for us from the tours, payment when we didn't have the currency, and helping us order or find items we needed like sunscreen and glass...
I'm not sure how our trip would have been without Gus he is fluent and perfect in both English and Portuguese. Almost no one here spoke English so he communicated for us from the tours, payment when we didn't have the currency, and helping us order or find items we needed like sunscreen and glasses!!! He took us everywhere we wanted, had great suggestions, and even helped us set up the covid test for our trip back!!! He was truly a lifesaver and I would recommend him to any and everyone!!!
