Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Mercado San Miguel, Plaza San Miguel, 28005 Madrid Spain
We will head towards Mercado de San Miguel, the first gourmet market in all of Spain, for the first of many food tastings. Here we’ll start with an aperitivo, what else?! We’ll try traditional vermouth or Spanish wine, and we’ll taste some delicious Spanish cheese at one of the best cheese stalls in the market.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: La Latina, Madrid Spain
Next, we’ll head to the pulsating barrio of La Latina to explore its narrow lanes and fascinating history. This neighbourhood is ultra trendy right now and is popular with locals for its vibrant food and drink scene. We will visit a tiny, off the beaten path restaurant that is well known for their traditional tapas dishes - with a fusion twist. This tiny spot only has 6 tables so it’s always busy and it has a great atmosphere!

Stop At: Plaza Mayor, Calle Gerona 4, 28012 Madrid Spain
Our next stop is Plaza Mayor where we'll chat about the city’s history and food culture. We will try the iconic bocadillo de calamares, the famous sandwich of the city. To wash it down, we’ll try some local beer too! We’ll also try some of Madrid’s most famous croquettes at a heritage tavern that was originally built in 1860 and only specializes in these special potato treats.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Puerta del Sol, 28013 Madrid Spain
After that we will walk towards Puerta del Sol, one of the most iconic spots of Madrid and finish our tapas adventure with a local dessert.

We did a Tapas Tour with Urban Adventures Spain in September and had a blast! Our guide, Daniela, was smart, funny, and engaging. She made an effort to get to know everyone on the tour and make each person feel welcome. She had useful information (like that there's a side entrace to La Reina Sofia and when to get sweets from the cloisters) and fun facts about Madrid that made the tour and our subsequent stay in Madrid even better. The food and wine stops were delicious. Even in some very crowded places, Daniela made her way through the crowds, jostling with the best of them, to get our food and find us comfortable places to enjoy the tapas. We just got to relax and devour delicious tapas and drinks while chatting with an awesome bunch of new friends. We also appreciated Daniela's follow-up email providing additional information on things to see and do in Madrid--so helpful and thoughtful. We highly recommend Urban Adventure's Tapas Tour in Madrid and Daniela!Alfonso was amazing!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself was very organized and a unique experience. Alfonso really takes you through local hidden gems and gives you a very cultural tour. Loved it!!

From the moment we met Daniella the fun began. She has a wonderfully bubbly personality. She took the time to get to know each of us in the group & then introduced us to each other. The entire group became fast friends. Daniella is well verse in the history of Madrid & knows where to get the best of every bite in Madrid. She introduced us to great food & drink. I discovered that I like vermouth, a lot! We enjoyed it so much that the day after we visited some of the same places to eat & drink again. This is the best way to get to know a city that I can think of.This was an exceptional tour! My only regret is that we did it on our last day in Madrid (otherwise we would have eaten a whole lot better during our stay). I can’t say enough about Carolina. This was an exceptional tour! My only regret is that we did it on our last day in Madrid (otherwise we would have eaten a whole lot better during our stay). I can’t say enough about Carolina. She is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, a natural people person, and took the time to engage with everyone in the group. In no time, she had everyone relaxed, happy and having a great time. I highly highly recommend this tour especially if you can get Carolina as your tour guide!Daniela was phenomenal! She was so knowledgeable and introduced us to some of the best local restaurants, their foods, wine and history. I especially loved her energy and genuine excitement in wanting us to have the ultimate experience in Madrid. Loved her!
