Stop At: Mount Batur, Kintamani 80366 Indonesia
We begin our adventure bright and early, picking you up from your accommodation and heading to the base to begin our Mount Batur tour. You’ll be in the best hands thanks to our experienced Balinese trekking guide who knows the terrain inside out. He’ll take you the quickest and safest route to the top where you’ll enjoy the sunrise with a tasty breakfast and warming beverage.
After learning about the thermal properties of Mount Batur volcano and exploring the deep craters and natural formations up top, we’ll begin the journey down. As it will be daylight by this time, you’ll get to admire views that were previously eclipsed including eerie charred landscapes of black sand and lava streams, as well as the legendary Mount Agung towering across the valley.
Duration: 5 hours
Stop At: Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Jalan Raya Ceking, Tegalalang 80517 Indonesia

We were picked up from our hotel in Ubud and driven to Mount Batur where we met our guide, Mangku, for the trek. Mangku was great, gave us a good seat at the top to watch the stunning sunrise and made our breakfast with a cup of tea. We stayed at the top for over an hour and also went right up to the volcano edge to see the steam and heat that it creates. We then walked back down and were taken back to our hotel but other stops are available on the way if you want to go to the rice terraces or have a coffee break as well.Went trekking with a small group of four. Everybody was so nice and the guide was great! We made it in perfect time for the sunrise and had breakfast on the top. Guide was also great at checking with you that all was okay on the way up. Very good experience!

I joined a small tour with Trip Guru Bali, picking up from Canguu at 01:30. Our driver dropped us after a 2 hour drive at the bottom of Mt Batur and we picked up our guide, Gede, who walked us to the top. Be warned, it’s a steep track up for 2 hours but not technical apart from some rock scrambling in the last 15 minutes. Gede was great, giving us plenty of rest and helping us climb over the rocks. Plus finding a much needed coffee at the summit. It’s a little chilly at the start but the hike warms you up. Definitely need a couple of layers at the top as you wait for sunrise and have breakfast.
