He was incredibly knowledgeable about the region and the people, passionate about the environment and sustainable tourism. He was friendly, approachable and remembered everyone’s names. Great to receive some exercise too after sitting on a long flight and enjoying tarts and port wine! Our children (ages 5 and 7) had a blast too. You won’t want to miss this experience!!! This was one of the most wonderful days we have spent on our trip to Portugal. It was made that way not only by the beauty of the national park, but by our tour guide Tiago. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, patient and fun to spend the day with. Our group was very international (Germany, Austria, UK, Denmark and US). Tiago was interested and open to learn about everyone’s culture and encouraged talking and getting to know each other. His driving was excellent on the off roads. I had the privilege of spending time in the front seat with him and we had delightful conversation. We had a wonderful lunch and tour in Fafiao. We learned about this small community of 250 and their lifestyle and use of resources. I was especially impressed that the company Tiago works for plants hundreds of trees for their community as a way of giving back since they take tourists in multiple times a week. This day will always be a highlight of my trip to Porto and I will make sure that all of my friends who go to Porto include this amazing day with Tiago in their plans.A wonderful day!
