Overview
In 1987 John Thaw hit the British TV screens as the iconic Inspector Morse and Oxford has not been the same since! A total of 33 episodes were filmed over a period of thirteen years on the streets of Oxford (although a couple were not filmed in Oxford). The years 2006 – 2015 were the Lewis era, during which Lewis and Hathaway tried to make the streets of Oxford safe. We now have the prequel, Endeavour, and a new season is currently being filmed. On this 1 hour and 45 mins small-group walking tour, your specialist and fully qualified guides (member of The Institute of Tourist Guiding and The Oxford Guild of Tour Guides) who have witnessed the filming and met the cast will be delighted to show you some of the scenes, although they cannot promise to cover over 150 hours of filming in just under two hours! Please note that we do not visit inside a college.

Entry is not guaranteed and may not be possible on some days in Oxford such as university events (degrees days). Saturday's may be unlikely but your guides are fully trained to deal with any closures.

Leigh Guyatt is a knowledgeable guide and longtime resident of Oxford. She also LOVES all things Morse. This tour was a fabulous bonus, allowing us to visit the interior courtyards of a few private colleges. Leigh walks quite fast - so keep up to see as much as possible of this gorgeous city!

Not having watched them before, I fell in love with 'Morse' and 'Lewis' in the midst of lockdown, and I started reading some of Colin Dexter's books during that time period as well. I had an opportunity to visit Oxford recently (a place I hadn't been to since I was a child) so how could I possibly scratch all of these itches? Well, this is the answer. Heidi's tour was absolutely brilliant and not only cemented my love for 'Morse' and 'Lewis' ('Endeavour' I haven't come around to watching yet! I will!) but also helped me to appreciate Oxford as the great, historic city it is. Thank you!Peterrobin

I booked a private tour for my group of 10 people with Heidi and she was great. She met us at our hotel and for the whole tour there was fact after fact about Morse etc and the University in general. All of the group thought it was the highlight of our few days stay....
