This activity was such a cool and once-in-a-lifetime experience! My friends and I were a bit nervous before starting because we didn't know what to expect. I was personally a bit nervous about being cold. But our guide, Lu, was so kind and helpful and explained everything so well and eased our nerves. I felt like I could rely on her. During the actual snorkeling, Lu made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we were okay. The entire activity went so smoothly thanks to her. The dry suit was kind of uncomfortable when we first put it on because it was so tight but you forget about it when you're actually snorkeling- I was amazed at how warm it kept me in the water. Would definitely recommend doing this activity with Troll Expeditions!

A spectacular experience! We went on a magnificent sunny day, the water was so clear and beautiful with the sun rays shining down through the water. Lilian was an amazing guide, made sure we understood all the instructions and took lots of pictures! Dry suits did a great job, we were not cold at all.

Americans here (2 of 3 from very warm Florida)! This tour was the most beautiful experience of my life! The sights you will see under the water are impeccable- the water is crystal clear and is truly as vibrant as the pictures show. When you are under water it is silent and so peaceful. A few things to mention: don't panic when putting gear on. You will have a lot on you, but the guide will put it on you in stages which gives you a chance to get used to every piece. Just do what they have you do and don't try to do it yourself- they do this all of the time. No matter how uncomfortable it is, just bear with it. You will NOT feel uncomfortable/claustrophobic/tight at all once your body touches the water. The suit will also keep you very warm- our toes, hands and lips were the only bpdy parts that were mildly cold. Disclaimer for people as anxiety ridden as our group! First you will have a dry suit on which is flexible and fleece lined and like a onesie pajama set. Then the wet suit goes over this (difficult to pull over your head but they do it for you) and is very uncomfortable out of the water- your neck will feel very tight and then the guide will check to see how tight it is- and add a rubber strap around your neck if they think water will get in with how it fits without a strap. While you are out of water, you'll feel like you can't swallow or like your circulation is slightly cut off to your head. It is not! Once you are in the water you will not feel it at all. They may do the same to your ankles depending on how the suit fits you. The head also feels tight and you may not be able to move your face around much since it is around your chin. They also put mitten-like gloves on you where only your index finger will be singled out of the glove in its own sleeve. Then you will waddle over to the water and they will teach you how to easily put fins on. They then put your mask on for you and teach you how to get water out/use the snorkel. This is where you may feel the most panicked with all gear on. Just try to get in the water for a minute and feel the relief before you decide you do not want to do it. There's a period of time where you can decide if you want to turn back. We thought we would want to but once we hit the water it was great. We stayed warm and dry. I panicked thinking I was stuck in the gloves and could not take my mask off if I had water in it but it was so easy to roll on to my back and pop it off quickly if I needed to, which I did a few times just from a little water getting in from my own movements. They then take the gear off of you after you are done, so you don't have to. Now it's time to brag about our tour guide!! Our guide was Veronica Vero and we were so glad to have her! First of all, we were late. But she called us directly and upon arrival she made sure we got our check in process done fast so we could start our tour (if you are more than 10 minutes late they may not let you participate). Next, we were very panicked and this woman looked us right in the eyes in the midst of a panic attack and told us we are okay! She wouldn't let our fear stop us from this incredible opportunity. She then put up with 20 questions, floating in the wrong direction, and even helped one of us get her hair out of a bush after it got stuck! She's a great go-pro photographer as well. Best thing we did on our trip!

Morning snorkel on 4/4 with Lilian. Absolutely a dream come true and the whole entire experience did not disappoint. Lilian was informative, insightful and exceptionally professional with the group (two other couples joined the 9:30am snorkel). We were fully informed of the steps before during and after the expedition. He made sure that we were OK every 10 minutes. Lilian took several GoPro pictures and it was uploaded that evening. We all felt safe and not rushed. 45 minutes was plenty to explore and experience this awesome natural fissure (I even had time to explore the new fissure). I appreciate his love of history, geology and nature as he excitedly educated us about Þingvellir National Park and Sifra's Fissure. Troll Expedition knows how to operate an expedition! Other Troll dive leaders assisted each another which led to a smooth experience over all from the greeting to the suiting up, to the informational briefing, all the way to the hot chocolate at the end. So perfect! Thank you for a wonderful 25th anniversary experience Lilian and the Troll team. We had a great time on this experience. We really didn't feel cold with all the gear they gave us! They also provided heated trucks for before and after changing and bags to store our other items. Our guide, James, was great and made us all feel very prepared and relaxed. The pictures were delivered later that day and are great! Highly recommend.

Hello happy snorklers, we had an amazing time we did, everything we saw on camera and off camera was beautiful the views were absolutely stunning they were. It was a very windy day but we felt very safe with our guide Lilian, he made sure we got to all the good photo spots and talked us through everything. We even got hot chocolate at the end to warm us up. Me and the mrs were very satisfied!

A great experience! We expected the water to be cold (we visited kn winter) but with the dry suits and equipment it was very manageable! The photos taken underwater were great and the guide was incredibly kind! He told us many interesting things as well is getting us comfortably though the tour - thank you! Silfra was beautiful to swim in and the water tasted so good and is very pure and potable (good to drink)! A must do if you are in Iceland and enjoy nature!

My wife and I took the snorkeling excursion with some level of expectations in mind of what we might experience because we have watched some Youtube videos about it. We expect it to be fun but it turned out much better than what we expect! Our guide, Kevin, not only that he was very experienced, he also made sure we have a great time during the Snorkel. Of course the view was majestic, it was even more stunning than what we saw in those Youtube videos; the experience itself was definitely a must go. We go in a group of 6, which was just nice of a group size in my opinion. We all got our photos taken, so we did not need to bring our own GoPro devices. The water was cold, but the suits we were given were enough to keep us alive throughout. In conclusion, the experience was incredible, our guide Kevin was amazing. Totally recommended!

This was such an amazing experience! James was the best guide- so calm and explained everything perfectly. After gearing up, we walked over and had to wait a while before entering the water. This was the worst part of the trip because it was windy and cold. Once we got in the water it was great! I would suggest wearing 2 pairs of wool socks with a hand warmer between. Your hands do get wet, so be ready for that! We would definitely do this again!

The snorkeling tour was so amazing, worth every penny! My highlight of our trip:) We went there on our second day in iceland at the end of march and we had absolutely perfect weather. Our guide Jana was very friendly, cool and I had the feeling that she really enjoys these tours, too. Changing clothes and getting ready was very quick and easy (with help of course:)). It was unexpected warm in the suits and the snorkeling part was easy after a few minutes. We had amazing views and it was so much fun! Jana made a lot of pictures, I love the close-ups;) and we got them via mail on the same day. After the tour Jana had some very good tips about things to do in iceland for us. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

My girlfriend and I booked this experience for our trip to Iceland. We were both very impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge of all staff. In particular, big shout out to our guide, Kevin, who made us feel very comfortable and was a lovely person while leading us through the activity. The water is cold, yes, but don’t pet that deter you from seeing these incredible underwater views! The drysuit keeps you warm, and while you will have cold hands and face when exiting the water, you’re provided with a warm area to get out of your gear and a hot chocolate! Thanks to Kevin and Troll expeditions for a wonderful experience :)

This was a must do for our family when visiting Iceland. It was a wonderful experience. Everyone working with Troll Expeditions was very helpful. Jana was our guide and she was AMAZING! She was very informative and was great with our teens as well. I would highly recommend!

It was an unique experience! The staff were all very welcoming and nice and our guide Jana was attentive, informative and fun 😁 The visibility is incredible and at some points you feel like flying. The drysuit was comfortable and kept the body warm, but hands and head were in a wetsuit - after a couple of painful minutes to adapt to the cold, my face was comfortable enough in the water, but my hands were freezing the whole time (I struggle with cold hands on a daily basis), but the experience was worth it!

What a beautiful experience! Had so much fun and felt very safe during the entire trip. James was great and let me stay in the water for as long as I wanted. The water is so clear that it feels like it isn't there only. Had heard of leaks with other companies so very glad that nothing like that happened. But the photos are kind of funny lol.

My daughter and I had an absolutely incredible experience snorkeling in Silfra, all thanks to Tröll and our guide, Kevin, who could not have been more knowledgeable and fun. My daughter was nervous about the activity and Kevin quickly put her at ease. I cannot say enough great things about him, the company, and Silfra. And oh my goodness, the photos Kevin took were stunning and included in the tour. 100% recommend!

Had an amazing experience snorkling between plates with our guide Jana. Her enthousiasm, fun and knowledge was really appreciated! The pictures you see are actually what you get. The water is something you never experienced before. Would highly recommend going!
