My husband and I were in Lisbon for a couple of days after a cruise and decided to book this tour to see more of Portugal. What a day!!! Our guide was Guiseppie (Pepe) and he was absolutely wonderful! He was so knowledgeable about the country and the sites. The restaurant he took us to was so delicious and it was fun to chat about Portugal while we all had lunch together (He did give us the option to eat alone, but glad we asked him to stay!). We went to Pena palace and Quinta de Regaleira. I purchased the tickets beforehand as recommended by the tour operator and it worked out great as we were able to skip the lines when we got there and purchasing the tickets online was very easy. The price of this tour was very reasonable and when you have great guides it makes it completely worth it. We would not have been able to do everything we did in one day without Pepe!! Thank you for a great day in Portugal!!!I met Giuseppe in Sintra right after I stepped out of the train station. I met Giuseppe in Sintra right after I stepped out of the train station. I had planned to navigate the palaces and castle myself but to my surprise the sites were closed due to a strike. Lucky for me Pepe was there to offer alternatives. I ended up going to the one palace that was open Quinta da Regalera, which was beautiful, but the drive with Pepe was even better. He was very knowledgable about the history of the area and took me on a great drive down the coast to Cascais, which was going to be my last destination anyway. Got to eat at a great restaurant along the way and soak in the beauty of the Portuguese coast. Wonderful time and very happy I 'chose' Portugal Unknown. Sometimes you can't beat serendipty.
