Clear Kayak Tour of Shell Key Preserve and Tampa Bay Area
Overview
In the summer months, keep your eyes peeled for a manatee or the beautiful pink Roseate Spoonbills. During the winter months, White Pelicans call the sandbars of Shell Key Preserve their home! Throughout the year, dolphins frolic in the crystal-clear waters of the preserve, and cormorants love to paddle alongside our tours. Even though we love showing our guests the wildlife within the preserve, sightings are random and not guaranteed. You will even have the opportunity to get up close to Florida’s natural mangroves and to hop out along a sandy shoreline or sandbar based on the tide!
Our Shell Key Preserve Clear Kayaks Tour takes place in Tierra Verde, FL, right near St Pete Beach. Adventure awaits!
Inclusions

Stop At: Shell Key, Florida, USA
We'll get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, we'll give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. We'll get you loaded up into your clear kayak and off we go! The paddle will last about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures and give some awesome unique facts about the area on our several picturesque stopping points!
There will even be a couple chances for you to get out and explore Florida's unique marine habitats! The first half of the paddle will be along side of the beautiful mangroves with our first stop being a mangrove tunnel (tide permitting), the second half will be a paddle across the blue waters to Shell Key where we will take time to enjoy the pristine sandbars and beach, finally we will paddle along the wildlife sanctuary to catch a glimpse of some native coastal birds! Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife along the way!

The beach was pretty cool and we ended up seeing a dolphin and the water was very nice. Raven was very informative and made the experience enjoyable. The only kayaking experience I've actually enjoyed too.

We went on the early tour at 7:30am which was GREAT because of the heat and sun. Our guide Chris was GREAT! Super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We are not experienced kayakers and were able to handle the whole trip with several breaks provided by Chris. The mangroves were amazing and we saw a manatee, dolphin, and some beautiful birds including the Roseate Spoon bill. If doubling up on the kayak, the rear person should do video and photo and we wish we bought a waterproof, floatable case for just our phones so they were more easily accessible. Waterproof bags for valuables were provided, and Chris had ice cold water for breaks. If you like kayaking, this would be a great trip for you.Wanted to take my son on the nighttime glow up tour; arrived for tour and guide was taking boats out of the water. Wanted to take my son on the nighttime glow up tour; arrived for tour and guide was taking boats out of the water. Apparently I'd accidentally booked the morning tour, not the evening glow tour. Since we scheduled time was past, they offered no refunds or discounts for a reschedule. "There's nothing we can do" was all they would say. Horrible experience, don't recommend.Richard was a great tour guide. He lead us to see about 10 dolphins and a pod of 7 manatees. He knew the answers to our flora and fauna questions.
