This is a definite to see the island their lifestyle , culture and history. We had a great guide Chan who was friendly , very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. It is a full on day but great fun with highlights of the blue eye, walking in sea with sharks and swimming in salt lake . But the visits to the towns and villages gave areal insight into island life .

We decided to book this tour to see the island and so glad we did. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Cape Verde. Our tour guide Nany was brilliant. So knowledgeable, friendly, patient, helpful and just a genuinely nice guy. He picked is up from.our hotel and took us around the island seeing the 9 different sites. The lemon sharks were brilliant. It was just a great day.

We had the best day with our guide Cal! We sat at the back of the truck and got to experience the strong winds of the island! Sand everywhere but that didn’t stop us from enjoying and seeing the island. Stops at the capital and a fishing village Palmeira where we enjoyed a nice local lunch. We saw the blue eye and walked in the ocean with some lemon sharks and floated in the salt lake. Highly recommend this tour!

Nothing special. Lost a lot of time in places not interesting to see (like kite beach...) It is a tourist trap. Better to rent a car and go around by yourself

A possible downside for some - Sal is not a Tenerife or Ibiza holiday with pubs all competing for customers looking for a cheap pint. It is not over developed and the local population is small. Sal is yet to be spoilt by the hotel chains and developers. If you want some white sand beaches, greeny blue seas, some local history, some sightseeing and a lot of relaxing - you'll be spoilt here. We did the all day sightseeing and it was great (both sights and value). Our guides (Nany and Domingos) were fantastic and they had a smile and an answer for every question. We were picked up at the hotel at the right time and were on the go most of the day. From the hotel we had two other pick-ups then on to Santa Maria and the Shell Cemetery Beach. From there up to Kite Beach and on to Espargos passing Murdeira, the restaurant that looks like a pirate ship and the airport. Further on we stopped for some photographs at a site known for mirages before the amazing sight of the Blue Eye Cave (added cost here). From here it was down to Palmeira for a short walking tour and lunch. You had the option to pre-book lunch so there was not a lot of wasted time. After refreshments, we went to Pedra Lume (the salt mines) where for a small additional fee you could go for a swim (or float) in the very salty waters of the former mine. The salt mine site was also a reminder of the darker past of Sal when, unfortunately, slavery was still an acceptable thing and the reason the islands were settled by the Portuguese. This was a sombre run up to the best part of the tour. The sharks – wow. These are probably used to the tourists by now and still on the small side – but… wow. The guide does the dangerous bit to attract the sharks and other fish towards you. You stand there as 1.5 metre wild sharks come to check whats happening. I don’t remember how many we saw in total, at one point I saw four within five metres of our group. From here we started the journey home feeling content at the days trip and starting to feel tired. If we ever go back we would both do the tour again.

Brilliant day trip, our guide Nany was excellent, courteous and very informative about the island. Visited all the attractions as listed, for me the best bit was the sharks. Do take a long sleeve shirt and lots of sun protection to cover up a bit from the sun if you are in the back of the pick up truck.

Christian is a wonderful guide. It was a pleasure to be on board and get some knowledge of the Sal island.

Pick up was on time and the vehicle was comfortable and clean. Nanny was our guide and his local knowledge was very interesting, he was also very friendly. Highlights of the trip were Kite Beach, Blue Eye, Sharks and Salt Lake. Enough time was alloted to each activity so it felt like you had a good overview of Sal Island. I would really recommend this trip think it is good value for money too. Both of my teens really enjoyed it too.

It was a great day. Great guide, lunch stop hade food that most people will enjoy. The salt mine was way cooler to swim in than i imaged before hand. It was a surrealistic feeling to float so much. Booking worked good, we booked the night before, got all info on what'sapp and got picked up on time. Would recommend anyone to go that doesn't have mobility issues as especially the shark view wasn't really wheelchair accessible. You will get to see alot, the guide is amazing friendly, nice and have a lot of knowledge.

What a day! We had expected a nice experience swimming in the salt mine, but the lemon sharks, rugged sea around the blue eye, amount of Sal covered and our knowledgable and friendly guide made this a great value and educational trip. Well done Nanny!

One of many island tour providers that more or less all include the same program. The company is highly recommended, the guide was great and the vehicles were in perfect condition. You can spend half of the tour in the vehicle and the second half on benches in the back of the pickup truck, which is also a very interesting experience. Everything was very well organized and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. Our guide Nana's mission is to provide information about the island in an entertaining way while ensuring that the tour runs smoothly. I would book with this company again at any time.

Very positive tour and experience, we booked the private daily trip, 2 adults and 2 kids, car was very comfortable and our guide fantastic. He was local, very polite, flexible, no touristic trap and he knew the island perfectly. The tour was “a la carte”, you are not getting rushed or pressured by the time, we added the Botanical garde to the visit and it was great. Pick up was 9am and we finished at 4pm as we were tired. Also big + to the lunch place in the fisherman village. Fully recommended instead of the pre organized group tours for your TA… Thank you Chun for the fantastic day, kids loved it

We had a great day. Nany and the driver were great guides. They gave us insight to all the places we visited, or passed through, with many laughs along the way. We would have liked more factual information on the Lemon Sharks. We had fun but there was a lot of serious misinformation about these animals within our group. We believe that this was a missed opportunity to educate people. It's common place for the turtles to get biodiversity and conservation exposure in Cabo Verde, it's takes nothing to add in the sharks. The truck is open backed, which we didn't expect. Although it said to bring cover ups, I'm not sure if we missed something in the small print about being out in the direct sun in the back of a truck. Therefore, it is an absolute must to take full cover up. A towel over the head my be easier to hold onto than a hat, whilst giving shoulders some protection too. The group swap seats after lunch, so one does half a day in the open back, and half a in the cab. Despite this, it's a long time in the direct sun between 9am - 3pm, despite the wind chill. I would highly recommend this trip to most age / fitness groups. Just take extra precautions to cover up.

Very good tour of Sal with many short stops. Comfortable car even with the roads beeing very bumpy. Nany was the perfect guide and driver for the whole day. Good to know is that you will need to pay 9€ in entrance fees per person and lunch (~12€)

Had a great day with our guide Nani. Showed us the entire island and gave us loads of fun facts during our stops. If you only have a few days in Sal, this trip is perfect! Wish we'd stayed longer at the blue hole rather than the lemon sharks, but that's just a personal preference.
