Plan your travel to milford, timing is important. Don't be put of by rain, rain feeds the waterfalls 🤩 Be prepared to get wet, a good poncho is great. We had dry pants and sox to change into after the trip😉

I came back to Milford sounds (after my first experience back in late November 2018) to have a different experience, that being I asked what company to go with this time and was recommended to go with Cruise Milford. I'm glad that I did because being a smaller boat we got closer to Stirling falls on the way back (one of the permanent waterfalls there) and the boat wasn't overcrowded so there was plenty of room to move around and get as many photos and videos as you liked without getting in anyone's way. The staff were welcoming and Brad the driver was informative throughout the journey. There was tea and coffee for free including chocolate chip cookies. I did do the 9:45 cruise, I had stayed in Te Anau the night before, I highly recommend doing this because when I was driving back the amount of tour buses, campers and cars was crazy, from 11:30am onwards it gets crazy busy and if you're wanting a more relaxed experience then go for the earlier cruise and stay in Te Anau as it's closer than Queenstown!

A really lovely trip. I would have liked more information on any wildlife and the geology of the Fiords. Loved it though.

Tania, our driver, put such a nice atmosphere all along the trip ! Lots of stop at wonderful view points, not so many customers on the boat, great information to learn a little bit more where we are and to finish a lovely nice walk even if it was under the rain ! If I was going back to Milford Sound, I will definetely book again with Cruise Milford without hesitation ! Thank you so much for the amazing day we spent ! The two frenchies girls.

It was a lovely cruise, amazing for the eyes. Some cruise's membre was french and was very helpfull with his advices. Plus note there were some cookies.

Small boat allowed us to get very close to and even under the waterfalls and there were less people on board. Felt like a more personal experience.

'Crazy Catlady' Tania was a wonderful guide and very attentive, we loved every minute of our trip :) We got to see a lot of water on all forms: Waterfalls, Rivers, Fjords, Lakes... and Rain :)

Outstanding crew and dynamic skipper on the boat. The weather was very rainy and that meant a super cruise with waterfalls literally everywhere. The skipper was so excited to share the sound and allowed passengers into the wheel house to experience the sound and stay dry. It was one of the best run cruises we have been on and highly recommend this company.

With 24 hour cancellation, we booked a few cruises on different days in the event of inclement weather. I think I saw it rains at Milford Sound ~ 200 days/year. Our cruise wasn’t full, so there was lots of opportunity to move around the boat throughout the ride. It seems like this tour is more expensive than other options at the port, but having considerably less people onboard (that what we saw enter on other boats), really made a difference. Also, full disclosure, once you reach Milford Sound, the only thing to do, apart from enjoying the beautiful drive there, is go for a cruise or small hikes. The cruise really is a must if you’re heading all the way down to the Sound.

Great cruise! Loved that it was a smaller boat so it did not feel crowded at all. Loved the education about Milford Sound while cruising, as well as the complimentary cookies and tea/coffee!

Awesome cruise, boat is spacious and modern, crew are knowledgeable and humorous, Craig and Daniella were great and did a fantastic job at getting amongst the crowd. Scenery is gorgeous and Craig is a world class skipper getting you right beneath the countless waterfalls. Would thoroughly recommend this cruise to all.

This small, uncrowded boat afforded beautiful views from the comfortable seats inside, to the seating outside. A once in a lifetime experience. We also enjoyed the on-tap coffee, tea and chocolate chip biscuit. Friendly, professional staff. Next time, I’d like to visit the underwater observatory. Back on shore, the cafe serves excellent food and drinks.

Beautiful scenery, it's hard not to have an excellent experience when soaking up the stunning views. The boat was spacious and had lots of viewing options, I felt comfortable moving around and taking pictures from multiple angles and from multiple spots on the vessel. Complimentary coffee, teas, and biscuits were a nice touch. The operators were friendly and could easily be heard over the speaker. They did their best to get us close up to some wildlife and we even got a feel of one of the waterfalls!!! (Bring your raincoat if you want the full experience, or you can stay dry in the windowed rooms) Ultimately, one less star because it felt like the whole Milford Sound Cruise experience was pretty touristy and the companies all just pumped out cruise after cruise. There are lots of options for cruise operators and they're all pretty much the same. They seemingly all operate from the same Visitor Terminal, and in the shoulder season of April, people were able to walk up and book a same-day last-minute cruise. All are priced pretty similarly as well. I did not do research prior to booking, but it could be worth asking each desk receptionist what makes their tour special and comparing for yourself. (I have heard that Southern Discoveries offers an underwater observatory experience which seems distinctly unique) The price felt a little high for a tour where the scenery spoke for itself and all you really needed was to exist within it.

This Milford Sound tour by Cruise Milford was fabulous!!! The people who run this business are the best. All was on time, the vessel was great and because they only book to half capacity, it was not crowded and provided plenty of room for all to enjoy. The scenery itself was most remarkable. What a beautiful creation we have to enjoy. I would highly recommend this tour with Cruise Milford!

Had an awesome time in the Cruise today. Wish we could have seen a few more wildlife. But the whole experience was surreal. Getting wet under the waterfall was another highlight of our cruise trip. All in all it was a fun day.

Weather was terrible. Views were virtually non existent but the trip was great. Apart from for no obvious reason keeping us waiting on the quayside in the pouring rain until just before departure the trip was wonderful and because of the heavy rain saw many waterfalls which wouldn’t normally be there. Coffee and tea on board is great and the commentary was ideal.

Superb experience. Team were friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We were blessed with a large downfall of rain resulting in fabulous waterfalls and plenty of opportunities to get wet! Bring a towel if it's raining!

It was a rainy miserable day, but the waterfalls were on show! The captain did such a great job driving us around and stopping so we could get plenty of photos, he even took those that wanted the ‘full experience’ through the waterfall. It was so much fun and a highlight to our trip. The drive there was also spectacular - it’s a must do!

Great day, great experience, wonderful scenery and a really good time spent on the boat. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
