7 Waterfalls of Damajagua
Overview
27 Waterfalls is hidden up in a tropical canyon is a string of waterfalls that you can hike to and slide down, swim under, and jump off on your way back down. You'll head up with a tour guide who will help make sure you're jumping off of safe spots, might explain some of the history of these gorgeous falls, some of which have ancient legends stemming back from the Taino Indians who first discovered this gem, and from my experience will just make the adventure even more fun.

Very very nice experience. The coolest and nicest guide. Speaking really well English. Very well informed about the country and interested in hearing about his guest.

Edwin Taxi and Transfer tours were amazing. They communicated with us the day before and told us exactly where to find him. We got an air conditioned, well maintained, taxi for our tour. Q Our tour guide, Luis, was very helpful and took great care of us throughout the entire day. He first took us to the waterfalls where he guarded all of our belongings, then he made sure we were fed an amazing lunch, and then took us to a private tour of the city of Puerto Plata. I highly recommend Edwin Taxi Transfer and Tour. You will not be disappointed.Edwin was a fantastic guide to the waterfalls. He made the trip very accommodating, and was able to provide knowledge of the surrounding Puerto Plata area along the way before arriving. The van was very comfortable. Great trip overall!

The Edwin tour guide was perfectly nice, but we were so disappointed by this tour. Our group was 23 people in size but as soon as we arrived at the location, we were merged into a group of 60. There were three location guides with us, at least two of whom we expected to be high. The group stuck together for the rigorous hike but that meant that the front half had to stop every five minutes to wait for the others. When we got to the falls, chaos ensued. They had everyone jump in one at a time and huddle to one side, creating what I can only describe as an ant farm of people kicking each other to stay afloat. It was at this point we realized at least 1/3 of this group could not swim, including one employee who nearly drowned…. The chaos continued as we were shoved down rock slides (of note, we did not visit 7 waterfalls on this tour). Instead of keeping everyone moving, we moved as a herd of 60. Finally, about 10 of us had enough and left the group to began the hike to the entrance on our own. We were put back on the bus and brought to the cruise terminal with only 15 minutes to spare. We will certainly remember this tour! What a fun morning! My wife and I, along with our three kids (10-14), seriously enjoyed this outing. What a fun morning! My wife and I, along with our three kids (10-14), seriously enjoyed this outing. After reading reviews, we went on a day where no cruise ships were in town and we had a great experience where we didn't feel rushed. Due to low water levels (drier season than usual), we were only able to do 7 waterfalls. This definitely left us wanting more, but the guides gave us as much time jumping, sliding and swimming as they could. We were able to eat fresh mangos right off the tree on the hike up to the falls, and our driver stopped by a local stand and bought us a few more fresh mangos! Yum Overall, would definitely do again!
